Soups
Some culinary creativity can make the difference between feeling resentfully "diet-deprived" and making a smooth transition to a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
And while there are some pretty good low-carb convenience foods out there, for many of us, "convenience foods" are what got us in trouble in the first place. So while bars, shakes and pre-packaged meals can serve as fillers and emergency foods, they should never be seen as a substitute for healthy, whole foods. The less processed, the better results you can expect. Low carb recipes make your journey to success smoother, so let's get cooking!
Faux Split Pea Soup
Submitted by QueenMama on Sat, 03/08/2008 - 16:17.I found this recipe in another forum, and it's so good that I had to share it with you. If you love split pea soup, you're going to like this soup, and it has absolutely no split peas in it, is very carb friendly, and a great source of veggies.
This is a dish that we will make more often, especially in the winter. I hope you like it as much as my husband and I do.
Beef & Cabbage Soup
Submitted by LCE Guest on Tue, 03/02/2004 - 06:00.This makes anywhere from 8-10 servings.. maybe more depending on how big your servings are... And, since different brands have different carb counts, I based the count in the middle...The entire recipe has approximately 70 carbs... so that averages out to less then 10 carbs even if you only get 9 servings out of this huge pot of soup.
