Description
Exotic Lamb Recipe!
Ingredients
- 2 lb cubed lamb
- 4 oz ghee or butter
- 1⁄2 t black mustard seed
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 t chili powder
- 1 T tomato puree
- 2 T garam masala
- 8 oz Sliced Onion
- 2 cardamon pods
- 5 cloves
- 1⁄2 t tumeric
- 8 oz sliced tomatoes
- 1⁄2 t sf sweetner
- 1⁄2 pt Water
- 1 T Lemon Juice
- 4 clv Garlic
- 1 oz ginger
- 1 ds Salt
Instructions
Crush and finely slice garlic; bruise and finely chop ginger.
Fry the onion, garlic and ginger in the melted ghee or butter until the onion is soft and golden brown. Add cardamom pods, mustard seed, cloves, cinnamon, turmeric and chilli powder and cook for at least 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the meat, tomatoes, tomato puree, sugar and salt. Continue to cook over a moderate heat until the meat is lightly browned. Add the water, cover and simmer very slowly until the meat is tender (about 35mins). Sprinkle the garam masala and lemon juice over and check the sauce.
Lamb Bhoona is a dry recipie, so most of the liquid should have disappeared. If however, the liquid cooks out before the meat is ready, don't hesitate to add a little more water, as necessary.
