Description
a sweet, tangy, smokey sauce
Ingredients
* 1?4 c minced onion
* 2 clv Garlic
* 1 T Olive Oil
* 8 oz can of no sugar added tomato sauce (hunts)
* 1 c sugar-free ketchup
* 2 t liquid smoke (absolutely essential)
* 1 T Worcestershire Sauce
* 1 t smoked paprika
* 1 T sweet paprika
* 1?4 c granulated splenda
* 2 T cider vinegar
Instructions
After sauteing the onion and garlic until slightly browned, add tomato sauce to cool down the onion mixture. Add this to a food processor and whiz that up until all the onion bits are smoothed out. Pour this back into the pan and add the remaining ingredients. Simmer about a half hour to incorporate all the flavors together and to reduce. Let cool and pour the sauce into a squeeze bottle and label it BBQ Sauce.

Notes
This sauce is great on grilled chicken or pulled pork. You can also use it as a base to make other flavors by adding your own spices, such as chipotle, cayenne pepper, Frank’s Hot Sauce, mustard etc. Use your imagination and make it your own!
