Thumbs up Re: Weigh-In August 1 - August 7, 2004

Congrats, Rob! At least you are heading in the right direction.

I had a really rough month from the end of June through the end of July. I gained about 4 - 5 lbs on vacation and then I continued to play with them going up and down 2 - 3 lbs, but never completely losing the weight.

I have crashed through a psychological barrier...FINALLY!

It all came back together this past week and I have now lost all the weight I gained plus an additional 1 1/2 lbs.

This means a few things:

1) I am now under 200 lbs at 198 1/2 -- an incredible feeling

2) I have lost 70 1/2 lbs since 11/03 -- nice and steady

It finally dawned on me this week that I have truly changed my woe for life and I have NO regrets. Sure, there are some things I want every now and then that are not low carb, but it's more of a want and not an uncontrollable urge. I am not saying that I will never eat anything high carb, but I am careful since I know what it does to me. I am not willing to exchange the way I feel now for a momentary pleasure.

Thanks to everyone for your wonderful posts...they really do provide a greatly needed support!

yay rob and "loving"!

well, i had a pretty good weight loss week, mostly because i was very stressed and it affected my appetite. i am now, however, doing better stresswise and was thrilled with myself that i didn't turn to food--especially the WRONG food--to deal with the stress.

(mom: "have some bread and jam, sweetie. the carbs will make you feel better and one won't hurt you." me: "i don't want any bread and jam, mom, but i appreciate the thought.")

anywho, i lost 5 pounds last week. so i'm happy about that.

I am up one--but I don't know whether to actually count it or not--I am still yoyoing around 178--one up one down--one and a half up one and a half down. . .nothing seems to change it--At least going back to school will force the issue a bit so starting Wednesday I will be really strict again with the during the day eating and I will be getting up again before 6am. . .yuck! I am hoping this will start the scale moving in the right direction again--though I don't mind maintaining either! It has given me a chance to work on toning the arms and thighs where the most loose skin was starting to show!

Strange week last week. I was up and down like a yo-yo. When I found myself up two pounds, I panicked and thought, here we go again. But, I didn't start overeating like I would have years ago. Instead I increased my veggies and now three days later I am back down to my signature weight. It might not sound like a big deal but to me it is. I can be in control of my weight if I remember what I have learned with Atkins. Way to go Rob, you waited out your stall, so I'm going to do the same.

I really enjoy reading these threads, so i have decided to start posting, though i didn't weigh this week drove 5 hours to a concert over the weekend, grabbing what i could eat in the car, and the concert was sponsored by Budweiser, nuff said. But back on track as of Monday, will report in next week. I started out at 300 exactly, lost an amazing 19 lbs during induction and then nothin. really frustrating, but have lost 2-2.5 more so slow loss is better than no loss

Yeah yeah yeah...so I can't claim a REAL weightloss, because I am still taking off the 3.5 pounds that I gained while I had a week of utter maddness. So, I am back at 285, where I had went up to 286.5, and where I had actually seen a 282.5 at 1 time. So back to the good ol' induction to get my body right again! Day 2, and not so bad really. But 1 thing is for sure, when (I) go off plan and eat sugar and/or carbs, I feel SOOOO bad. Physically, mentally, emotionally. Won't be going there again, and feel good about it!

Not very exciting but it is still in the right direction....another 1/2 lb. gone! Going back to purer, more natural foods this week and naturally, plenty of water. Lets see if that helps.

Hi all,
I'm so excited!! I didn't weigh myself all week and concentrated on eating the way I was supposed to and those pounds I kept revisiting finally went away. The scale dropped 6.3 lbs this week to 292.6. I couldn't believe it and had to weigh myself twice to be sure. I feel like jumping up and down for joy. :jump:
Congratulations to everyone who lost or maintained this week!
