Default OT: Best Low Carb Dinner?

This is my fav forum so I hope you don't mind me posting it here.

What has been your fav low carb meal?
Last night we went out to celebrate buying a new home Well I had the best dinner I've had in ages!

It started with a delicious salad with slivered almonds, tomatoes, red onion and no croutons! LOL With the thickest blue cheese dressing! Awesome! The the main course, a 10 oz NY Strip with a peppercorn sauce & monterey jack cheese and a skewer of spicy grilled shrimp and sauteed mushrooms. We were both in heaven! Now hubby ate 6 (yes 6) rolls with honey butter but I refrained from that part The restaurant was called Dakota's RoadHouse. Man-O-Man was it delicious!

Sounds like a wonderful meal Renee! Wish I could have joined you.

My favorite meal is lobster and fillet mignon but guess how often I get that. LOL
But last night's dinner was low carb chicken parmesan served over a huge plate of steamed broccoli with some of the tomato sauce. Really satisfying.

oh boy, i have no idea what to pick as a favorite meal. Seafood, chicken and/or turkey as the main course and im a happy camper. Oh and lets not forget my new found passion for fruit and whipped cream. or peanut butter. I cant pick, i could go on and on here. I just love variety and spontaneity when it comes to food. My favorite meal would probably change by the week, lol.

Renee, sounds like your meal last night would be hard to beat. My favorite meal is lots of fresh crab meat with drawn butter.

New York Strip Steak--well and hot off the grill with grilled veggies to go with it! Add a cream cheese fluff dessert and it is a perfect dinner!

Oh boy....one of my favorite discussions.....dinner! Let's see, I would have to go with
a big mixed green salad with cheese, real bacon crumbled on it, sunflower seeds and top it with creamy caesar or green goddess which is well worth 3 carbs Then on to the main course...a thick cut of top sirloin marinated in terriyaki with sauteed mushrooms, a big side of fresh steamed broccoli with a big pat of butter, or grated cheddar and for dessert LC cheesecake with some fresh strawberry puree on top.
Man, I wish I hadn't put pork chops out to defrost for dinner tonight! LOL...

Medium rare prime rib with sauteed mushrooms, steamed broccoli or LC creamed spinach. For desert fresh berries in heavy cream.

Yesterday though we went to a Japanese steak house and I had them prepare the steak and grilled veggies with no sauces (just butter and spices) and it was SOOOO delicious, it's now one of my all time favorites and it was entertaining to watch being made too! :cook:

theres this little restaurant/bar by my house in the middle of nowhere, wi called *markums* and i swear they cook the best steak ANYWHERE. they have a 18oz ribeye that they cook on something called a *flat iron* and im telling u...ya dont need a knife to cut it or teeth to chew it. HEAVEN on a fork! they serve it with salad and summer veggies and its by far the best meal every time i go.

I have to say I'm with Rob on the steak and lobster, although I'd prefer a sirloin steak over filet. A salad to start it all off, some buttery steamed veggies on the side, and some berries with splenda and fresh cream for dessert.

    Now, guess what...I'm hungry!!!

Tonight, I made one of my quick and favorite dinners:

Tomato, Mozarella & Basil Salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar -- The Jersey tomatoes are to die for right now!! I picked fresh basil out of my garden and used fresh mozarella from Trader Joe's.

Sauteed chicken breasts stuffed with herbed goat cheese (from Trader Joe's) and wrapped in bacon served over a bed of mixed greens

It probably wasn't the lowest carb meal, but it was reasonable and very yummy !
