My neighbor, a young kid about 20, with all good intentions, sells a "natural product" (whose name I won't say), but the other night he pops into my home after we had just walked in the door from a vacation with protein bars, and brochures on how his weight loss products work etc. I told him that I don't eat the protein bars and that I can barely stand to choke one down, trying to discourage him from pushing them on me.

He says he's worried about my health eating the Atkins way, he starts asking me questions, like, how do you feel, "I feel better than I have in years", you mean to tell me you don't eat any bread? "No, I don't", well there are good nutrients found in rice and bread that your body needs, "I don't need to eat them, I don't like the way they make me feel, bloated, crampy, etc." Finally I get him to leave.

So....last night he pops in again, just as I'm ready to sit down to dinner, a roasted chicken and some broccoli - he about died when he saw an entire chicken on my plate and an entire one on my DH's plate! He says, geez, haven't you heard of eating 1/2 a chicken, "NO, I said, I eat the whole darned thing!" Heck, I can, right!! (as it was, I only ate half but he didn't need to know that!) Finally got him to leave, but not without him leaving more information on his diet plans that consist of powders, dry soup mix and bars and pills that cost $299.00 probably for a months supply!

I guess I just wanted to share my experience with a pushy salesman. I have said I'm not interested yet he keeps popping into my door with all this information that I have no intentions on buying and I told him that I'm happy with the plan I'm doing, he flat out said, "do you think you can do this the rest of your life?" Of course I held back my thoughts on eating a diet consisting of powdered drinks and dry soup for the rest of my life. I'm better off if I keep my mouth shut!

LOL at him saying 'do you think you can do this for the rest of your life?' I reeeeally wish you had said what you were thinking. That would have been the first thing out of my mouth. Sure beats all that powder for the rest of my life. LOL

My question is "how much weight has he lost ?" If he hasn't lost anything why should you spend your hard earned money when he has nothing to show for it. Maybe post a sign on your door "Salesmen will be EATEN !"

Time to say "enough is enough -- don't come back trying to sell me that stuff."

Don't mean to be rude BUT, he is ONLY 20 years old, right. What does he know anyway about losing weight. Much LOL.
