Hi 100 Forum folks!

Since it looks like we may be here at the Waldorf for more than just a couple of days, I asked Andrea to get our room ready.

Ain't it pretty? We have such a lovely view of Central Park!

Woo hoo, I'm glad you added this forum. I saw it on the old message board, (got a glimpse of heaven before the site shut down, never got to register).

Thanks for adding it on here during the wait for the site to be recovered.

I started the Atkins diet two weeks ago (8/17) with 165 pounds to loose, I now have 151 pounds to loose and am feeling GREAT.

Horsemom:

When I first started I had over 150 pounds to lose. Our starting and ending stats are pretty similar. Glad to hear you're feeling great!

April, I've seen your stats at the bottom of your posts on other threads. You are an inspiration to me!

When did you start the lc woe?

Good Day Everyone,
I'd like to introduce myself..and Thank Everyone for the opp to join in. I have been on a rollercoaster ride over the last 3.5 years. I am hear as all of us our to improve on the quality of my life. Three and half years ago I under went gastric bypass surgery and went from 314 pounds to 198. I plateau'd there for about a year. Then in a stress job transition, dropped to 175-however was miserable and depressed. Once that period in my life subsided, I was back up.... and up. I got to 228 lbs, feeling very depressed and devastated. Mostly since I had made a promise to myself and everyone who cares for me that by having a weight loss surgery I would NEVER, NEVER gain the weight back.. I was well aware of the dangers and very willing to accept everything that could happen. Having dropped the weight quickly in the beginning and feeling great, I got a little too sure of myself. I believe with having plateau'd and not being near enough to my goal weight, or that which would be considered 'normal' or 'healthy', I tested the fates.
I jumped on the low carb wagon and did well, dropping to 210 and hit another plateau as I see is common enough. Now the last two weeks have left me with sugar highs and drastic lows, extreme stomach bloating and feeling worse than ever. I'm ready to get back into what I know is a lifestyle change.
My short term goal is to get under the 200 mark and then I will feel better, especially in regards to having had the gastric bypass surgery. My body plateau'd right there at about 75% weight loss from the surgery-which is common in person undergoing the surgery.
Enough on me..I'm looking forward to hearing/reading all of your challenges and stories. Best of luck to all of you and have faith that we can all be successful with a little guidance and helping hands along the way...

Debbie, welcome!

Glad you're with us...we don't have many members who have had gastric bypass surgery, so I hope you'll share your unique perspectives and experiences!

And don't you just HATE plateaus? Hopefully, now that you're low carbing, you can beat the plateau and get happily under 200!

I'm so excited for this forum. I have had a weight problem my entire life. I remember weighing 172 in the 7th grade. Three weeks ago I hit an all time high of 250.
So 08/11/03 I began the low carb way of life. I had been an Atkins person before and lost but, didn't keep plugging away.
Now I have hit my bottom,I will be 30yo in less than 6 months. I want to be healthy and 30. Not slow, sluggish, tired, and 30.
This site has been an awesome support so far,it's always nice when you know there are people who understand.

Thanks Buffie

I am so excited to find this!! I don't feel so self conscious about needing to lose so much weight. I have had a weight problem since my daughter was born and the pound have crept on more and more over the years. I feel like I finally have a chance to get healthy and fit again with this woe. This is the only diet I have not been hungry and miserable on and I feel so much better already!!

I too am happy to have found this place....have been low carbing for close to 5 months now and have lost 28 lbs, 35 inches and have come off insulin and blood preasure meds...my all time high wt was 280 and was able to get to 258 [my blood sugar was an average of 300 daily] and am down to 230 lbs and not sure what my goal wt should even be since one this woe I am losing more inches then any other wt loss plan I was ever on...am thinking 140-150! I started exercising 1 hour a day over a month ago and it seems to have slowed down my wt loss on the scales but the inches are melting away!

To get to the rainbow you must first pass through the rain!
