Default Size????? 10!!!!!

Another new pair of pants--anohter new vest--another new top--gosh it is fun when nothing fits, but frustrating too. It was easier shopping when what you needed was the biggest they had and then you eyeballed it and hoped it wasn't too tight but it was the biggest they had so you took it. Now, while there are considerably more choices--and sizes and everything has its own look and style and fit everything must be tried on and fitted. . .and my ever changing body requires a different size in every style and brand it seems. Anyway, I am straying here--At something around 163--minus the TOM goofiness that is my body--I picked up my lay-away yesterday and had to change the jeans and the sweater vest sizes--no longer an XL or a 14--so I went to trying things on--here I sit in my totally new outfit--only thing I had actually guessed right on was the dress top I chose to put under the vest--Juniors L--I came out of Wal-Mart with a nice looking smart fitting Size L vest (they were out of the M or I would have that) and a size 10 jeans--I have another pair of 10s but the waist is really tight and I won't wear that pair much yet--but this pair looks really nice and is comfortable! I still can't believe I am actually wearing a 10. I was looking at pictures taken last fall at Thanksgiving and Halloween and--WOW--it doesn't even look like me--I know it is, but BOY do I look different this year!!!! I don't know what I want for Christmas either--I want to shop for my own clothes, I guess what I want is to be ready for pre-maintenance so I feel like shopping is possible in the near future!!!

Sounds wonderful. You've been doing so well. Even with the stumbles you push right through and keep on losing. Congrats on the new size 10's!

Congrats on the new smaller size. You are an inspiration. I have been stalled for 10 months so it is nice to cheer you and your success.

Lori, that's great! I have such a large frame that if I were skin and bones, my structure would only allow me to be about an 11/12!

There's so much more freedom in shopping at those sizes. For years, I was trapped between finding nothing to fit in the regular-size stores and everything in the plus-size stores being too big. Being around size 15-17 is tough, although I have a few jeans these size I want to get back into. I think it's all in the cut, as you are finding out with the constant changes in your shape and the cut of the clothes.

Keep up the good work! (Hope your recovered completely from your illness!)

Thank you all who have replied to my celebration of shrinking post!

Karen--one day you too will be shocked to find that plus no longer fit! I know that shocked the devil out of me last spring after about 10 years of plus sizes!

Goddess--OH, yeah--I know you loved that too. . .that small revelation that the backside is not as large as you once were and if you are like me it still shocks you to realize that it is MUCH smaller than the picture in your head shows it!

Maxi--I have a relatively small frame--except the shoulders--I have always been built like linebacker!

Shortie--I think that would make me crazy--10 minths--10 weeks almost killed me!

Noel--it is all in the choices, I have no one forcing me to stumble therefore there is no choice but to push through and make the right choice the other 95% of the time! It really does kind of make up for the 5% you cdon't make the best choice.

J-girl--it really is great motivation

Alice--my name is Lori, and it really is awesome--I love my new pants!
