Ok.. this is probably going to sound backwards but here it goes anyways!

My outsides of my feet under the last two toes are sore. Now I know that a lot of ppl who are over weight will have foot pains but I never did until the last ... I would say 15 LBS of the 71lbs I have lost. Do you think it is because I lost some fat off of that area of my foot and maybe their isn't as much cushion when I walk? Does any one else have this problem? Well any thoughts on this is welcome! Thanks in advance!

Actually yes... I wear a smaller shoe size too. I went from a size 10 - 11 Wide to a 9 - 10 W (yes I have flipper feet.. LOL)! I wear sandles most the time But even when I do wear my sneakers they still hurt. I thought maybe they were the problem as well. But it seems to make no difference what ones I have on. Heck my feet hurt even when I don't wear shoes!

Maybe bones spurs??? Check them out with a podiatrist. Or a chiropractor might help.

My feet hurt a lot when I am on them for a long time, and they are HOT all the time. I don't wear shoes whenever possible. (explains the shoe leather bottoms.)

Have you paid close attention to HOW you are walking? I know that sounds silly, but it is possible when you carried all that extra weight you may have actually put more pressure or support one way or the other and now it has changed?

Also.. and this will sound even sillier.. if you sit at a job or the pc.. observe how your feet are when you are most confortably propped. I had a bad habit of sort of putting the same spots you are talking about on the floor, kinda tucked in a bit.. so all the pressure was on those spots. When my feet went numb there (including my two little toes) it finally dawned on me it was from the way I was seated. I've since changed chairs and my feet can rest gently on the floor and not tucked under. After a few days the numbness left Just a thought!

Tanya,

If WakingUp's suggestion doesn't help, I would say it's time to see a doctor.

I have heard of losing the fat from the ball of your foot.. a friend went to a podiatrist and the doctor told him that the reduction of the fat layer on the bottom of the foot comes with age.. he now wears padded socks and additional support in his shoes.. checking with your doctor is always a "good thing"

ha ha ha.. you know I had to laugh when I was reading your post wakingup' .... I was sitting exactly how you discribed! I never thought about that! LOL That might be exactly what my problem is!

And.. I know that when I was heavyer my shoes would always be worn down on the outsides of my shoes. Maybe my feet are re-adjusting to actually walking the way I supose to?!

Thanks for the suggestions! Gonna pay more attention to the position of my feet when I sit even!

MargH... I suddenly had a vision of myself dress'ed like mama on that TV show Mama's family! LOL But it is interesting to know that loosing the fat off the ball of one's foot is naturally occuring!

If this persistes then I will have to go to the doctor.
