Wink Not really a newbie, so...

..so I wanted to (re)introduce myself in this thread. between 2 and 3 years ago I frequented this thread, and I have these "good to be home" vibes from it.

I started lo-carbing the summer before my senior year of HS, because I didn't want to go to college fat. well, that year I did lose around 50 pounds. The summer before school I got complacent about my habits (but mantained my weight), and when I got to school, forget it. beer, pizza, and then mix in some spiraling depression my 2nd semester. all or nothing thinking at it's worst.

I'm in my 2nd year now. gained back all those pounds I lost...amazing huh? A few months ago I tried weight watchers, cos you know, the commercials say you can eat the foods you like and still lose (beer? pizza?) Well, i would eat my points for the day and I was starving. My leader said I had to learn between stomach hunger and head hunger.

and okay. there is some truth to that. But, "Okay, so in addition to writing papers, reading 100's of pages a day and my extra curriculars I have to agonize over whether I'm *really* hungry or not when I find time to eat??? " then the thought snuck in... "...when I lo-carbed I was never hungry..." but I pushed that away because I liked my pizza dmmit.

So I just ate and felt like crap for the past couple of months.

Today, I spent the day with my mom after I haven't seen her in months. She was the slimmest I've ever seen her. I asked her what size her jeans were, she said they were a 14 in juniors. Can you imagine? She's been low carbing for 2 years now, of course! Today I ate like her, and it felt absolutely incredible. I MISS eating this way! it's hard to follow this plan while at school since I have to battle with what the dining hall decides to serve, so I told myself, when the semester is over in 3 weeks I'll start, it'll be the perfect time.

But, is there ever really a perfect time?? What is a better time than now??

Tomorrow I'm going to that stupid dining hall and I'm taking my cheeseburger off the bun. And I can't wait!!! I'm ready for a change...

HI Daisy and welcome back. I think I remember you from 2003.

You're right NOW is always the perfect time to start any "diet". Gaining weight freshman year of college is almost mandatory so don't feel too bad.
