I haven't really been doing a lot of exercise, but today I walked two blocks during the day, then tonight I walked a half mile. What types do you recommend? I want to lose my belly more than anything...

Walking is great...start there...if you are a non-exerciser for the most part...start with walking...you can do situps...but it still burns calories off the whole body...not just the belly! Some basic yoga poses will do the most toward flattening that area...once you start getting the weight off you will see a huge change in it without adding exercise specific to that area too...yoga strengthens the muscles through slow stretching and body position use of the muscles...very good for you.

Great job on starting with the walking! I agree walking would be bet for a beginner. It helped me lose the first 70 pounds. I did add sit ups as Lori suggested but wasn't really regular with them. Depending on the shape you are in you may want to contact you doctor before starting a more strenous routine.

You can always work your way up. It's better to start slowly when you've been away from exercise for a while.

I have kept up with the walking, but not with the crunches. I seem to be at a stand still with my weight loss. I have lost around a total of eight pounds, but doesn't seem to want to go any further. However, I was reading another thread and it mentioned something about cheese and salt not being good. I eat a lot of cheese..thought it was okay. I drink LOTS of water, but have also sorta been 'cheating' by eating cool whip and nuts. thought it was okay. Anyway, I guess it is back to square one (or so) for me. I was excited about finally getting out of induction, but think I should probably go back for at least a couple more weeks. Any advice????

definitely move on...8 lbs is a great induction loss and many people stop losing by the end and need to move up on the carbs...be sure they are coming from vegetables but definitely move to 25 carbs a day...it often makes a big difference.

I agree to move on. Try cutting out the nuts. They may be causing you to retain fluid if they are salted. Then you can have them but maybe not so many. I started gorging on macadamias for a while, it started out with just a few and grew from there. I cut them out completely for a time and now just buy small containers and really watch my serving size or I blow up like a puffer fish in my feet and ankles. I don't know what to say abuot the cheese though because I love my cheese. But it doesn't cause me troubles (i.e. stalling, binding).

sounds like you know what's slowing you up, or at least have a really good idea. there's no "square one" though. just make the adjustments you need to make and keep on going.
