Red face Getting Back on the Wagon!

Hey there!! It has been almost a year since I've been on the boards, so I desided a fresh start deserved a fresh identity! I seriously fell off the wagon while pregnant with my adorable little sweetness. I thought I could maintain a healthy carb lifestyle, but the hormones raged and if it wasn't nailed down I ate it. At last check I was up 65 lbs post baby, including my "quit smoking 35lbs" prior to getting preggo. I was miserable watching the pounds pack on, I hate every picture taken of me durring my pregnancy, and want control of my body again. Well, Sweetness will be 2 months old tomorrow and it's time I got my butt in gear! Sunday Morning will be the day. I've debated for hours about just diving in tomorrow, but I need time to clean out the pantry and really plan my induction meals. I have been inching back to healthier meals over the last month, but now is time for full commital. I go back to work in 10 days -- I need to be able to fit into some clothes besides sweats!

I'm going to keep in mind three big motivators. #1 -- I just was emailed the group picture from the 4th of July party. Not only am I the biggest woman there, I'm the biggest person. Ugh! #2 -- I never want my daughter to have any clue what it's like to be fat or have a fat parent. I need to model for her a healthy lifestyle, and that starts now! And finally #3 and most important -- I want to be the first woman in 3 generations to live long enough to see grandchildren grow up. I will not die like my mother! (Diabetic complications).

So, in addition to healthier eating I plan to join Curves next week, drink a gallon of water and at least one cup of green tea per day, and no eating after 730p. That and only weekly weigh ins, no slave to the scale this time!

I know I can do this. I need to do this. More importantly, I want to do this!

Thanks in advance for all the support!

Welcome Back! I remember you in your past LCE life as Kimjmj. Sounds like you're well motivated. You might want to read DANDR again or the book for whatever plan you want to follow. Congratulations on your new family addition. She's a cutie! I'm assuming you aren't breast feeding since you wouldn't want to be doing that while in ketosis.

Thanks eveyone! I am still currently breastfeeding, but also supplementing with formula. I will keep myself out of ketosis until she completly weens, but I have a feeling by the end of my first work week she'll be totally on the bottle. I've just been using the breastfeeding as an excuse for too long now. Her health is not dependant on my massive consumption of fries and chips!

I've dusted off the trusty DANDR and have been re-aquainting myself with it. It's veggie time!! I now just need to locate my tape mesurer. I missed getting mesurements the first time before I started. I know where I wound up so that's going to be my first goal. Thanks again everyone! So grewat to see so many familiar "faces"!
