| Okay, so I'm new here. I've never been on a diet before. Sure, I've wanted to try a few but I was happy at my 214 ibs but now I'm forced to, Not by my boyfriend (who happens to like the way I am right now), Not by my mom (though she would love for me to be skinner), No, its by the one person I wasn't expecting to hear this from (well, he has told me numerous times but not so forceful.) Its by my doctor! The day I went into the doctor's office was the scariest time of my life. My dad's side of the family, well, most of them do have diabeties but I thought that would come later on in my life I didn't have many worries but then I find out at the age of 24 I'm at a high risk of having diabeties if I don't curb the way I eat now. But then the news gets better I might be pregnant and now I have to be on a low carb diet. It doesn't sound so bad until they start listing off everything I have to cut down on. I love my italitan but I can't have as much as I like. There goes the Pasta Kid (as my dad loves to call me) There goes my fast food joints. And now I'm down to rabbit food (don't get me wrong its great now, but at the time that's how I felt.) I was so afriad I would sprout out whiskers and start doing that nose thing that rabbits do. But it hasn't happened yet and its only been two weeks since I found out so I'm relieved on that aspect. But I might be pregnant threw me for a loop too. Now I have to think about two and I find out next week if I am or not. Look, I hope this doesn't offend anyone, I like to be frank and throw in some humor. I guess the reason why I'm writing this is because I feel lost right now. None of my friends understand only my boyfriend he's sweet enough to go on this diet with me and I'm thankful for him. But I found someplace where I feel like I'm not the only one and its kind of nice. So, I just wanted to put this on here and to say thank you to all of you. I hope I am able to talk to you guys. Take care. Sincerely, Jilly Bean! |

| Welcome, Jilly Bean! Low carb is a great plan for someone that doesn't want to be stuck eating just "rabbit food" and starving. If you are pregnant then you'll have to modify because you shouldn't be doing a true version of the induction adn ongoing weight loss but you can do maintenance. I re-read the book a few times but can't remember if you can do pre-maintenance as well. I think you said on another thread that you were looking at a South Beach/Atkins type. Cutting out sugar and white flour would be a good thing with any "diet". But if you don't get that news then you and your boyfriend could start with the induction together. It's awesome that he is willing to get on board the healthy eating train with you. Maybe a pick a plan that you can both get behind from the beginning. Again welcome and post often. This site has been a lifesaver for me and many others I'm sure.
