Dee, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you. Those people are so used to dealing with idiots, they just stick to the basic questions!

When I went in for the afore-mentioned appendectomy, I was asked at least 8 times if I was pregnant. My belly was swollen, I grant you.....but it had just become that way THAT day. I absolutely KNEW I wasn't, but there are times when women show up in full-blown labor and say they don't know they're pregnant. DH and I watched one of those emergency room shows and this woman was literally giving birth in her shorts, until the ER doc cut them off her. The poor baby's head was pushing against her clothes! She was crying telling them her back was killing her and totally shocked when the baby started coming out. Or at least she acted that way.

Dude, I've BEEN pregnant and there ain't NO WAY I wouldn't know it! Also, when my water broke they told me it was probably urine. I said "No, it's amniotic fluid....it leaks more when the contractions start." Them: "Okay, dear....we'll check the PH level just to be sure." HELLO!! I was standing in my kitchen when the flood waters began, I guess I know!

And I'm quite sure you know when you are or ARE NOT having an anxiety attack. But like I said, they are so used to dealing with idiots....they're not ready for intelligent women like us who know their bodies.

You have been through so much, Pincushion! I'll be praying for your speedy recovery! If I get in early enough tomorrow night, I'll log in here and check on ya.

thanks guys - I appreciate the warm wishes. I just finished taking a shower - which makes a WORLD of difference!!! I still have red splotches all over, and the test results won't be back until tomorrow but I feel pretty okay. They sure feed you a TON of carbs in this place though - my body is probably in carb shock!!! I swear 75% of the meals are carbs...I wish hospitals would keep up with th new information - 75% carbs are NOT good for the body. The idea is to make me BETTER! Not WORSE! ;-)

Hopefully I'll get out of here tomorrow, and life can get back to normal. I'll keep you posted for sure!

Gosh, you'll get out of the hospital and have to go into Carb detox for a week! As someone else pointed out it is called "practicing" medicine.

I wonder if this is like stomping on somebody's toe to help them get rid of a headache. Enough needles stuck into you and you won't feel anything anymore.
J/K, all me best for you! Now, SMILE, Mag dabbit!!

HA HA - your hilarious Tom!!! I told someone that I need to break my leg - might as well get a full compliment of problems right? ;-)

I'm smiling...I'm smiling! Hard not to - it's easier that or cry. Brad (best friend) called and asked me the horrid question 'How are you doing?' - I started bawling... I hate that question. I don't want to DISCUSS how I'm doing. THe weather, the drugs, the tests, anything but 'How am I doing?' - nope! Leave ME alone...I'll get through it and deal with it afterwards. ;-)

He's a good sport - and called his mom and she stopped in with a beautiful pink thing of flowers -

She atually came in and started crying! Silly girl! It's about 10:25pm, and I should probably be planning on closing my eyes - but l'm unfortunately wide awake. Not really sure what's on t.v. - but I'm mindlessly watching it.

Thanks for all the kind words and such - I truly appreciate it!

Dee

The allergy specialist just stopped by. He said he came in expecting my skin to be perfectly clear and me chomping at the bit to get out of here. Unfortunately, he didn?t get what he was looking for. I?ve got hives on my thighs, my abdomen area, back and chest area and in my hair still. He said that they are pumping me full of 500 MG of steroids, and they should NOT be here anymore. So, he?s recommending a biopsy of one of the ?lesions? as he?s calling them now (guess they aren?t hives anymore?).

He said my white cell count is up a bit, but that?s expected from the steroids, my thyroid function is a bit out of whack, but nothing indicating exactly what?s going on.

So, I?m waiting for the dermatologist to come by to biopsy (why does this NOT sound good?) one of these raised red marks on my body.

I?ll keep you posted.

Good Morning Tom - would you believe I'm working from the hospital? Dial up is slow - but I remote desktop in (love that feature) and use my cell phone to call from (I'm in sales). It's a sick sick world - but it's either that or veg out in front of the t.v. which I do NOT do well at all! ;-)

When you get the chance invest in a wireless card or usb module. Only about $15-25.
Got some for DW and my notebooks. She loves it. You'd be real surprised, the darnest place will have "hot spots" Then you get full bandwidth access.

I am at a smal hospital and have a gorgeous giant palm tree out my window and a beautiful blue sky. The view is gorgeous! I'm sure it's a bit warm though, as usual here in Texas!

Tom - I am the proud owner of a brand new HP Pavalion with everything onboard (including wireless). They have a speedzone network - but it's limited or inaccesible. That'd make my day to have wireless.

I'm a net junky - and pack around an IPAQ or my laptop just about everyone. The nurses think I'm hilarious to have my laptop set up on my rolly bedtray thing...I think I want a rolly bedtray thing for my house! This is awesome.

Your next step will be a Pocket PC/Cell/Camera like me. Work issued me one. That is what I use to post while I'm sitting on the bike at the gym. It has broadband access. Not wireless. It is thru the cellular system. Really neat. You sound in better spirits. How's it looking for you to get outta jail?

They are keepig me here for another night - still waiting on a couple of test results. At this point, I just want to be HOME! I want my couch, my shower, my bed, and my stuff. I want coffee! (BTW, they are giving me coffee HERE, which means I can have COFFEE! If the H.Pylori is the culprit, then the coffee didnt' cause the Heartburn!, which means I can have COFFEE!!!). I'm so happy! Happy, Happy, Happy!!!!!

I've looked at the Pocket PC/Cell/Camera thing - but I just got my IPAQ not to long ago from a guy who is a systems tech with HP (shhhh, don't tell) and it's not even on the market yet! It's awesome. My husband uses his cell to get broadband access - but I'm not THAT bad yet. He uses it to use his laptop at his work on the weekend so he can chat via Yahoo while he's at work. He only works Sat., Sun., and Mon. (It's okay to call him names when you read that, I do all the time!!)

Right now - the hives are at a minimum, they just did another finger prick for sugar levels, and I am fine in that regards. They were at 117 this time.

The nurse has put in 'low carb' on my meals - so my meals should be looking up at least. I'll let you know. My luck - I'll get meat, no veggies, and bad salad! ;-)

I'll keep you posted!

Hey Tom - nice to see your doing your part for the lowering of the overall human population weight. Lets see - they pulled out my CUURENT IV because it wasn't flowing clear any longer - and are going to put a new (read bigger needle) into my OTHER arm. I'm TIRED of being pricked darn it!!! And they are still doing the needle things! It's rough I tell you, rough!

But CSI Miami - my all TIME favorite show - is starting it's season tonight - so they can have at my arms - just DON'T interupt my show! ;-)

How'd your day go?
Dee
