Definitely figured out the emoticons - thank you SO much for the link. I love them!

To be honest, I figure the next 'threatening' storm will get little to no 'movement' from everyone because this was such a 'cry wolf' situation. It's the probabilility for everyone that lives in a coastal city. It's why so many people didn't leave...we've ALL been told we'd get hit...sooner or later. And so far (even though we were prepared for it), we haven't actually been hit hard. Tropical Storm Allyson caused more damage to Houston than the Hurricane.

It's just a fact of life. It's made a huge impact on MY plans though...fortunately David and I had a bit of cash to go 'stock' up for the hurricane - just in case. But we took a serious look at finances, and resources and such and had to recognize that we were NOT in a good 'cash' position. So I spent 3 hours yesterday going over the last 3 bank statements for both David and I. It was astounding to see the amount we spent on going out. Not astounding...ridiculous! Seriously ridiculous. So...a plus for the Hurricane...David and I were both off at the same time....and got some much needed planning done. ;-)

I'm going to have to start a new thread considering I'm not HAVING heartburn anymore!

Dee

You should just start a journal. You could call it back on track again III.
Take care kiddo!

You make me sound like I'm a teenager instead of a 32 year old! ;-) I think I 'will' start the journal again...;-)

On a sad note, my parents are looking at 3 to 4 weeks of possible power outtages... not good. They have 3 HUGE freezers...and a ton of equipment that they run. We are trying like the devil to get them some Diesel Generators...that'll be my major project for tomorrow.

Something tells me generators are at a premium where you are. And yeah you are a kiddo to me I'm 48.

Good luck on your "quest for power"

Hey, are you itchless and hiveless? That's good! Have you been able to stop the Prednisone yet? Great drug, bad effects.

I went to Keller today and took I-35 South back.....bad mistake. ALOT of people were heading back down South and traffic was bad. I'm just really grateful things weren't worse than they were.

Check ya later.

Hey Maxibee! yes I'm itchless and hiveless! And I'm on the step down dose of Prednisdone...switched to 3pills x 2 times a day (60MG). I'll take that for 3 days and then do 2 pills x 2 times a day...etc etc etc...

I keep expecting to step on the scale and show this MASSIVE increase ....and nothing. God is watching out for the drug peddling doctor's apparently!

My parents are still looking at 4 weeks with no power...with suggestions it MIGHT be longer. They are picking up a deisel generator today to power their WHOLE house (including A/C). They will be VERY popular people very shortly! ;-)

Just stopping by to say Hi! The generator is one thing. Now you also got to find a humongus fuel tank to take them thru. And deisel to put in it too.
Glad to see your winding down on the hives. Steroids help keep you lean. That's one of the things body builders were using them for. Very dangerous in the long term.
Have a great one!!

Well Tom, I don't LIKE the way they make me feel - so I'll be HAPPY to give them up! Regardless of the 'lean' part or not. It's funny though, cause everything I see online about Prednisone says it causes weight gain...which I can understand...it seems like you're eating for 12. I'm guessing body builders are a bit more circumspect on what they are eating when they are on them?

Tomorrow night will be the final 'clean out the fridge' night for food, and we (David is starting with me) 'restart' Atkins induction levels on Thursday. I'm hoping I get into Ketosis quick otherwise I might turn into an egg for all the eggs I'll be choaking down to stay away from the higher carb stuff. ;-) Fortunately though, I'm back at work, and that'll keep me busy (mentally) at least.

My dad works in the oil field - so he has huge Deisel tanks...he has 3 dozers, and 5 tractors...all of which use Diesel. Apparently they had JUSt refilled their tanks before the storm, so Diesel is not an issue! ;-) The generator uses about 2 gallons/hour...so it won't be cheap...but if it will DEFINITELY be worth it.

Your so hilarious Tom...I can just about see you typing away on your Ipaq at the gym....by the way - did you get the new Windows Mobile? Well, not a new version - the upgraded version? David is raving about it...and is gnashing at the teeth to upgrade mine (tomorrow, tomorrow!)

I went cold turkee off my drugs...and found out that I shouldn't have. I went off of everything BUT the steroids....and had problems breathing this afternoon...not anything to panic about...just a heavy chest feeling. So David brought me my drugs and I took the pill that I'm supposed to take every 6 hours to help with breathing...it's more for like allergies...who knows.

I have a doctor's appt at 8am tomorrow...hopefully they'll know what's wrong with me! ;-)

Since this is kind of your journal, I though I'd drop by and see how things are going. Hows the generator situation going and your medications?
Hope your hives are still under control.
