Hello all. I just started Atkins yesterday (1/2/06) and am on my way to losing 150 pounds! I've done Atkins before (three years ago) and lost 45 pounds, but I hurt my back just before the holidays, and so you can imagine how the pounds crept on by not being able to exercise AND being faced with high-carb holiday treats. I put it all back on plus another 70 pounds. I was recently diagnosed as pre-diabetic, and that was enough to scare me back to reality. Luckily for me, my physician (who is different from the one I had when I lc'd before) not only is supportive of me doing Atkins but actually recommends it to her patients, particularly those who are diabetic or pre-diabetic. It is going to be helpful to have the medical support that so few have. Anyway, I'm glad I found this site and will probably be here a lot for support, and look forward to getting to know all of you!
