Hi Kate, and welcome! Glad to have you join us. This is the best place to receive support. Also good to know you have support on the home front! 8 lbs. in a week is awesome! Keep it up!

welcome, kate.

the first time i low-carbed, i got bored and quit, too. so i understand!

what helped me "get it right" the next time was doing some homework. getting the atkins book, making sure i understood everything very well, and getting a few low-carb cookbooks was invaluable. with a little practice, you can learn to sub low-carb for the stuff you normally eat and fit it into your everyday life. it beomces just how you eat, and so there's nothing to get bored with. plus, once you finish induction, you can gradually add in all sorts of wonderful things!

good luck to you.

Welcome, Kate.

I've never gotten bored with low carb. I do get bored with being fat, though, so working hard to change that is how I keep life interesting.

Hope you find success!

Welcome Kate. I can think of many adjectives to describe the low/controlled carbohydrate WOE. However, boring would not be one of them. While there are things that I used to eat that I now choose not to eat because I now understand that my body processes carbs too well, I have found different foods that I enjoy as well as substitutes for the the high carb foods that I used to eat. There are lots of low carb friendly recipes posted here and on other web sites so that you should never be bored with what you eat, unless you do not chose to avail yourself of those choices. I am eating a wider variety of foods now and am eating better that I have ever eaten before, thanks to this WOE. If you need suggestions or recipes, just ask.
