Default Weekly Weigh-In 8/27-9/2/06

Down a pound this week! Almost wasn't going to weigh today because of a run in with a couple plates of stuffed shells on friday. But for better or worse i decided I was committed to weighing in weekly.

Hope everyone else had a good week!

WTG Rob. Down a pound is always good.

Heather, I know those pounds will come off soon enough. I'm sure some is from your oops.

I don't know what happened with me this week. I was down a pound from 280 last Sunday to 279 then got to 278 Friday and Saturday mornings but today am back at 280. I'm going over things in my head and it could have been salt from yesterday's pork-fest (bacon and a zoo hot dog) or the Atkins bar. I think it's the salt and not enough water. Atkins bars haven't really affected me like that. So we'll see what lots of water can do for me today.

8-25-2006 weight 233 lbs.

Or at least that was my weight in the Emergency Room Wednesday night. I haven't been on the scales since because I've felt like crap until this morning, so I"m taking the Wednesday night weight - that would be a two pound loss for the week.

Go read HERE to find out the details of the ER trip.

I'm not in pain anymore and as of yesterday, I'm back on this woe. Thursday and Friday, I mostly stayed on protein and low carb, but I didn't eat "meals" exactly, just pick a bit here, pick a bit there style eating, some of it a piece of bread or cracker, and an ice cream.

Saturday and so far today, I had meals that follow this woe. I'm ignoring my scales this morning and will check it out tomorrow morning when I go back to work.

Noel - I'd bet on the salt! After last weeks large loss things like this will happen.

Heather - Water weight after a carb binge is almost inevitable. What I usually do in that situation is wait at least 3 days after the fall (so to speak).

M'lady - sounds like an awful ordeal. Similar thing happened to me about a year and a half ago. after spending the entire night in the emergency room getting test after test they diagnosed it as diverticulitis. Complicated by my hernia.

Rob,

Does this woe work with diverticulitis? Or did/do you have to make modifications because of the diverticulitis? I'm asking because in the back of my mind I'm wondering if that is my problem (still more tests ahead on Sept. 8).

Thanks,
~K

Cushie - I bet a few days of flushing out the salt with water will get that 278 back on the scale Cushie. So many times that scale lies with how well you are really doing on your eating plan.

K - I sure hope that they are able to find out what happened. I'd hate this to be something you always wondered and possibly worried about. Let us know what happens at future doctor appointments.

M'lady - I didn't really have to make any adjustments. I've alway aimed for high fiber grams in my choices of carbs and that was what they recommended. The cure was a very heavy dosage of some powerful antibiotics. haven't had an attack since. knock on wood.

OK besides the salt I found my hormones are once again in flux. My body thinks it need to have TOM again even though I just did. I thought this last night and it's been confirmed today. So I'm not paying any attention to the scale this week and remembering I was at 278 Friday/Saturday and will see that again very soon.

Sorry to hear about your ER visit. I was just in there not long ago and I know it's a royal pain. I left AMA (against medical advice) because ten hours was enough (I was just leaving before getting the last of the fluid anyhow). I hope thy figure out what was wrong. Years ago I had menengitis and they didn't know for a day and a half and that was the worst day and a half in my life as I lie there thinking I was dying (which technically I was but obviously everything turned out well). I hope the pain doesn't return in force before your doctor's appointment.

Congrats on those pounds gone, Heather!

Well I was going to wait till friday the first to weigh, but went to swim this morning and got on the scale and it said 294... that is 4 down from the last time I weighed about three weeks ago.... that is just great....

so excited.. and so happy I got back on track... instead of constantly seeing the scale going up and down, I know that it is only going down....

yesterday was day 10 no sugar, and day 4 on track...
onward
