| Sorry to hear you've been ill, Rob. :( That's no fun! Hope you're feeling better now. I don't have a change to report this week because I haven't been weighing regularly, but I did weigh in today, so I have a new baseline for next week. I plan to move from the ranks of the cheerleaders in the weigh-in threads to a participant. Whoo hoo! Of course, I'll still do some cheering, too. I'm focusing more on making better choices, so naturally, I'm feeling better as well. While my weight is above my comfort range currently, that's okay. It's not like I don't know what to do about it. Har! Happy Sunday to you all.

| Yesterday I was down another pound. After my big whoosh though Monday getting back on track I'll take a pound for the rest of the week. So I'm at 276. Actually today I am a bit puffy from too much smoked sausage this morning (I can feel it in my face especially) but I'm still registering a deep purple so I know that I didn't get a regular coke from McDonalds by accident or anything like that. Though I'd know it I hate regular coke.

| goddess - Glad you are motivated again! Believe me i can relate. Noel - ^5 on the pound loss! I weighed this morning and am exactly at 211 which means no weight loss. But I'm pretty sure i was up a few pounds during the worst of my illness. so I'm happy to be back at signature. Now to focus on the rest of this week as eating and exercise goes.

| After a big loss week like I had I am happy with the pound. That's great that you maintained through the illness, Rob. It's so easy to let yourself creep up a little when you are sick.

| Noel- Every pound gone is a good pound gone, as you know! That sausage probably just caused a little water retention from the sodium or something. Rob-Good to hear the illness is gone and you're at sig. I AM feeling motivated again. I'm not sure what the difference is, really, but I can feel the difference for sure. Sometimes, it's like I'm just kind of whining about my weight creep, but still eating the stuff that brings it 'round, you know? Or maybe I watch it for a day or two here and there, but it's just not really clicking. I don't feel it. And sometimes, I just "know" that I'm focused and I am in the zone again. And that's where I feel myself now. I guess it's making that decision about what I really want? I'm not sure, but I'll have to think about it. If I'm just kind of bumbling around the issue, nothing happens. I just know once I have my focus and energy directed towards what I want to do, then the magic startys.

| Is it possible to lose 2 pounds by means of a hair cut? I was not good this week. I ate a fig! I didn't get enough exercise. I ate a lot of cheese. Most of the weekend was spent sitting down, playing bridge. I did, however get a thoroughly short hair cut (it's always warm down here, why not?). Despite the imperfections, I was 214.5 before my Tuesday morning walk and 211 after. So I'm going to claim 213 (down 2) and run with it. Someone should also investigate this exercise=lose weight correlation. I think there might be something to it.

| Monday - October 2, 2006 = 237.5 Thursday - October 5, 2006 = 230.5 No secret. It was TOM, but boy was I happy this morning. So happy, I'm posting from work!!!! (And, I just happened to have an unusual moment when I was actually sitting at my desk and not doing anything). The biggest happiness for me though wasn't the TOM weight loss of 7 lbs., it is the fact that I've finally, let me mention that again - finally, broken through the 235-232 cycle I've been doing for the past four or five months. Yipee!!!! Rob, I'm glad to hear you're better now. Chicken soup is a good thing!!! Other than the feeling under the weather bit, how was the house sitting? goddess - Hello Ms Motivated! Do you think it is the autumn air?spride - I dunno about the exercise=weight loss thing. I think you should investigate it further. :silly: Personally, I like the hair cut theory!!! LOL! ~K |

| M'lady - Congrats on breaking out of that plateau! You women sure are lucky to have that Tom fellow help you out of stalls like that. As to the haircut, it better not be my primary means of losing weight, because it's going to be a WHILE before I need another one. My DW says I went all Andre Agassi on her. I haven't had hair this short since I was 0.5

| Thanks Noel! goddess - never question motivation myself. Just thank heavens when it comes. Sven - LOL I like your haircut theory very much. I'm going to have to get a buzz cut. Thanks K - house sitting job went very well. They are using me again starting mid week for 5 days. Good job on getting past your plateau! Tomorrow is a new weigh-in week already. sneak peek this morning showed me down only half a pound. That's depressing since i had no loss last week. Maybe I'll get an overnight whoosh.
