Default Craving Sweets

Don't know what is going on with me lately, but I am seriously craving sweets and have had a few off plan moments.
Usually I try to avoid sweets because even modified, allowed items make me crave more sweets.
However, because I am having off plan moments, and they are not planned but are spontaneous, I was thinking of offering myself some low carb options to keep myself under control.
One thing I saw was Cool whip flavored with sugar free jello. Thoughts? Has anyone tried it? Does the cool whip have sugar in it?
I need to have something ready made in case I have an issue again. Ready to reach for instead of the full sugar treats that my hubby and son enjoy.
I am working on trying to figure out what the deal is with the cravings, but in the meantime.....

sugar free jello, whipping cream (whip it up and either put on the jello, or add a little cocoa powder and splenda and it is a quick chocholate mouse...)

those are things that help me out,
Look thru the recipies section here and try something
oh
Peanut butter cookies:

1 cup peanut butter (reg or chunky)
1 cup of powdered splenda
1 egg
tsp vanilla
mix together, and roll in balls (makes about 12)
use fork to pat down a little, and bake at 350 for about 10-12 min

I have made these and added cocoa powder,
and I believe it is posted in recipe section, it is mostly protien, and a little carb from the splenda I think it comes out to 2 per cookie... they are good, can be froozen, and the do the trick.

I like to whip a little cream with some softened cream cheese and flavored with some sf syrup. I like Walden Farms strawberry especially well. Takes care of the sweet craving, and provides a bit of protein to boot.

Or stir some sf syrup into a little sour cream. It's a really nice sweet treat.

If I think of anything else, I'll come back & let ya know.

Cool Whip does have sugar in it. There is a "sugar free" option but it actually has more carbs than the regular or extra creamy. I just bought the extra creamy with 2 carbs per 2 Tblsp serving. I like to mix 2-3 Tblsp of whipped cream with with 1-2 Tblsp of Walden Farms chocolate sauce. I makes a nice "mousse" for a quick, small, sweet treat.

Oh BTW! I just saw Walden Farms has a marshmallow flavor "dip." I'm amazed to even find this stuff at my local store, maybe you all already know about it. I just wonder what to use it with...

I generally avoid Cool Whip. I don't like things that are composed of air and suspect ingredients.

I tend toward sour cream or whipped cream with cocoa and some liquid splenda or some DaVinci syrup and/or some berries.

Lightbulb Re: Craving Sweets

Mab,
On another note:
I have found the amino acid L-Glutamine to help with sweets cravings. When I first heard about it, I laughed it off, but in desperation tried it and found that it does work! It's not 100% fool-proof, but it seriously takes the "edge" off my cravings... It's available at most health food stores; read up on it and check it out for yourself. HTH,
