Default Plateau

Hi all.
I haven't been to the site for a while and was disappointed to see there were no new threads for us in the 100+ category!
I am just touching bases to say hi. Still stuck on my plateau. I have been trying to (and have stuck to it) increase my exercise to blast some of this weight away, but it is not working.
I have been doing a half an hour of walking, four times a week. This week I even managed to jogg for 15 minutes out of that. I have also been doing intervals to try and shock my body into reacting. Know what happened? I gained two pounds.
Sticking with it on the hope that my body can't keep resisting this!
So, where are all of the other faithful 100+ posse? LOL

Mab, if you are staying strict with your carbs AND exercising, the only explanation for the gain is that you are building muscle and this is a GOOD thing!
Keep up the exercise; at some point your body will HAVE to "break" and the increased muscle mass will help with that. More muscle= more calories burned since muscle uses a lot more energy than fat. I predict you are in for a sizeable "whoosh" in the near future!
Hang in there!

Here's keeping my fingers crossed!
I did notice that although I have not lost weight, my clothes are getting looser and I am about to go down another size.
But, there is something inherintly satisfying about seeing that pesky scale move down!
I jogged again last night, and it felt great and is getting a little easier to do!

Mab,
That is WONDERFUL!!!
And anyone here will tell you that it's how your clothes fit that *really* matters -- not just a number on a scale.
In fact, if you are adding muscle weight, you may end up looking better at a higher weight than you originally intended as your "goal weight." This is fairly common. You will be just as "thin," but muscle weighs more, so the number on the scale is not reliable.
Keep up the fabulous work! You are inspiring!

Mab - Hang in there and that &^** scale will go down! Meanwhile going down a size is a lot better than a number on a machine.

Thanks for all of the kind words!
I went to a bridal shower on Saturday, and the compliments came pouring in. That is very nice and gratifying! Yes, vain and shallow, but hey, I will take the encouragement where I can get it!
I currently weigh 204, but I am in a size 16 jeans.
Last time I was in a size 16 I weighed 185 pounds, so something is going right.

Mab, it isn't vain or shallow to feel good about compliments on your weight loss. You've worked hard to get where you are, and you deserve the kudos. Take the credit for what you've achieved. We all know that it is a never-ending struggle, that it can be frustrating, especially when you have a lot to lose, but you are succeeding!

BTW, I can't wait until I'm in size 18 jeans! In 16s, I'd feel downright skinny!

I know, but that pesky old scale really gets me down sometimes!
I am going to just keep on trying and I know that I will experience a "whoosh" - it just might not be in this decade! LOL!
