Default I'm down 100.. here is some exercise advice..

I'm not sure if this will help anyone.. but trust me, I know what it's like to be 310 pounds and DREAD the though of exercise.. I just couldn't do it and remember how miserable it was to even try. There have even been times I thought I was on the verge of having a heart-attack if I didn't slow down. Anyways, something that I found that really worked for me with toning up, building strength, and burning calories all at the same time was using resistance band training. (at walmart the bands are like $9.99 if I remember right) .. Anyhow, I could just sit down and just pull the cords and that was basically it.. I can't express how life changing this has been for me. Just pulling the cords was all I needed to do.. with my arms, legs, or whatever part of my body I was trying to workout, it just was amazing how it helped! Each day I just got stronger and stronger.. and it's helped so much with lose skin too. Plus, each workout was about 20 reps each, so it wasn't like it was even hard to do.. and I was never out of breath or anything like that. I started off slow, looked online for different types of exercises I could do using them.. and made myself up a routine. Then, when 1 cord got too easy, I'd go and buy a harder one..

Anyhow.. just my 2 cents of advice. I was reading somewhere where someone asked for what's worked for them.. and this is what worked for me. Hope this helps in some way. Let's press on everyone!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing.
If you don't mind...one question...what did you do for your stomach muscles?
And, woo hoo on the 100 pounds lost. That is truly inspirational!

Thanks for posting about your weight loss. It was so encouraging to me to hear about another way to exercise that I could possibly do. It makes me continue to think about really cutting the carbs. I'm much older than you so wouldn't have the success you have had but I need to get some weight off so I can start feeling better about myself.

Hey there! Thanks for the nice words.. You can do lots of stomach "ab crunches" with your bands.. What you do is hook them into a door (they come with a door jam type latch) and you sit in a chair and pull them using your bands.. There are a lot of different ways you could work your stomach,, just check online for different workout routines you could do.. and I'm sure you'll find a lot! Just type in like Resistance Band Training Workouts or something like that.. that's how I found mine. Some bands also come with a mini workout book depending on which one you buy.

Carrole.. you could probably do really well with Low Carb.. It took me 1 year to lose the 100 BUT.. I was NOT faithful with my plan and messed around a lot. If you stuck with it, you'd probably lose really fast.

Anyhow.. Thanks again so much for the nice words! Let me know how ya's do!

Hey, I just joined a fittness center, it has been helping. I am so out of shape it is going to be a real journey getting in shape but I am feeling up to the challange, even at my age... which is 50. Never too old, never.

Penny, I use a Gazelle for my exercise, and it is very easy on my knees. Another poster here said he could not use the Gazelle because it made his knees worse! Weird, isn't it? But I find that it helps me get in a good workout without impact on my knees, and it actually helps keep the knees limber. Any exercise that requires getting down on the floor is a no-no for me. These old knees do NOT like trying to get up off the floor!

You gals have done wonderful, I love the band idea, because I hate to exercise, not for anyother reason than that, I hate it can't stand and can find any reason not to do it, but not this band thing is very interesting I was just talking about my arm flaps last night with someone what to do with them, this might just do the trick.
Keep up the great work everyone!!!!!!!1
