people have different routines. some do it every day; many here do it once a week. it really kind of depends.

if the daily fluctuations bother you (and they are WAY normal, by the way- you can flux several pounds in a single day), then go once a week. if weighing every morning helps keep you focused and doesn't discourage you when it doesn't go your way that day, then that's fine too.

it's all about finding habits that support what you want to do. if you weigh frequently, however, please don't do it more than once a day, and don't let it discourage you. the thing with the scale hopping is that it really tends to emphasize the diet aspect instead of the lifestyle aspect, and in the end, it IS the trends that counts, not yesterday afternoons unexplained pound and a half. you know?

Welcome from me,too. I'm a long-time low-carb advocate and lost a lot several years, but have regained because I ignored what I knew and now I'm starting over.

I prefer to weigh frequently (daily), but I don't fret about the "bounces" (I don't call them gains when the scale goes up a pound or three--just a bounce, and what goes up must come down). My reason is that I don't want to miss the low day on the scale...the day the woosh shows up before the bounces start again...

Welcome. I've lost over 100 lbs and prefer not to weigh every day. I find I get more satisfaction out of the weight loss over a couple of weeks rather than a couple of days.

So have you picked a plan/book to go by? I started about 6 weeks ago and am feeling so good these days I can't believe how much better I feel than when I was a sugar aholic.....food actually has a taste again.... I like to jump on the scale everyday but I always expect toooo much from just one perfect day so I usually try everyother or third.. that keeps my spirits up and I agree with the earlier post I don't want to miss that low day!!!! That is what we are all working for....
Happy carbing....
