| I am new here, and am looking at the LC lifestyle....again. I low-carbed about 5 years ago, and had some success. Then, my life got crazy...divorce, moving, single parenthood, and remarriage to the most wonderful man Needless to say, I completely fell off the wagon. I have been trying to lose weight ever since using a combination of do-it-yourself low-fat diets, and Weight Watchers. Nothing has worked, and it is very frustrating. My big thing is that I need to feel full, and I get bored easily, and hungry, which always sends me running to the nearest chinese buffet! I did not go back to LC because I became worried about eating all of that fat, and I was inspired by my DH who had lost 100 lbs just by eating "healthy:....cut portions, healthy fats, healthy carbs, etc. I started to believe that LC was bad for me, and I needed to focus more on healthy eating in general. Well, that never seems to work.I am looking to maybe do a LC diet again that is lower in fat, and incorporates lots of fruits and veggies. I know there are some diets out there that do this...give you a good balance so to speak. I have about 130 lbs to lose. Any thoughts on this, or is it just best to go with the "traditional" LC plans? | Hi again, Robin ![]() Several of us responded to your other post, here. After re-reading your question, I suggest that you get a copy of South Beach and look it over. If you are wanting a more liberal amount of carbohydrates, South Beach might be more of a fit for you. JMHO. Good luck! ![]() hth

| ANY LC plan will incorporate lots of veggies; most will inlucde ave more fruit as you progress. but if you're concerned about fats specifically, then i would definitely look at SB as Shelley suggest, which is more liberal with carbs and less with the fats. personally, i have had NO problem with fats and do not question the healthiness of my eating because i am unquestionably SO much healthier than i was a hundred pounds ago it's not even funny. good luck.

| I, too, don't worry about fats, after reading up on how they are so beneficial for us. The only fats I avoid are transfats and processed vegetable oils. For some interesting reading on fats, try perusing Barry Groves website: Fats, Cholesterol and Cardiovascular Disease Information Point - Second Opinions, UK He has some very good thoughts about the benefits of fats, even the much-maligned saturated fats. I hope you find a plan that you like and can live with!
