| We both are starting out walking a mile every day shooting for AT LEAST 365 miles this year, if we don't get a mile in one day well thats still a mile that has to be made up. If we progress into more than 1 mile/day thats great to. I need tips for where to shop for foods that i can get creative with. I've looked at some recipes and some sound real good but i cant seem to find the store that has some of the ingredients, I'm drawing a blank right now of what ingredients but even the simple one like liquid splenda... have not seen this in the store. I feel I need to have alot of variety to help me succeed. I'm trying to stay lean in meats and eat chicken and fish and i got sirloin patty's last night for dinner and cooked them in our Nu-wave oven, that really got alot of the grease out of them! Our goal is when we lose 100+ lbs each (me and my wife) we're going to Hawaii. She's always wanted to go there, but we've dreaded the long flight, but 100 lbs lighter it should be much more bearable. lol I'm still convinced this is the way of life for me, the only way this body can get and stay healthy, and with more and more doctors thinking its a good way of life that gives me even more confidence. I thank everyone that helped me before and I feel a little guilty, for letting you all down. You guys look at these boards everyday and see someone that is reaching out or asking for help and then that person QUITS!! Well I'm not quitting this time. This is the only way...a life style change! Its simple eat carbs get fat, dont eat carbs lose weight. How simple can it be ![]() I put up my avitar. Thats my wife and I in Florida. Needed to resize it but couldnt.

| Welcome back Tim. I see from your profile that you list your "plan" as 20 grams of carb a day or less. That is an induction level on the Atkins plan. However, it is not likely to be a sustainable low carb plan. The object of most established low/controlled carb plans is to teach you healthy eating habits that can sustain you throughout your life. I stayed at induction levels for nine months before moving into OWL. It is amazing how many more choices you have for eating when you get to 30-35 grams of carb per day. Having variety is key for me to being able to stick with a plan. As for the ingredients you would like to find, just post your list and I am sure you will get lots of help. Be prepared to have to order a lot of specialty ingredients on-line as most free standing low carb stores have now closed. However, depending on what you want to fix, you may not need many such ingredients as low carb eating relies heavily on readily available natural food products like meat, cheese and veggies. Unless you are going to go into a lot of low carb baking, you probably won't need a lot of speciality products, but they are readily available on-line. As for liquid splenda, here is a link to a thread that provides information on various sources wher you can obtain it. Consumer Report Update: Liquid Splenda
