Cow 250+ lbs to lose - HELP!!!!

Good morning all,

I've tried LCE before and have lost weight (as much as 40lbs, one time) but always,
ALWAYS, there came a point where I would tell myself "oh you can have just ONE
regular soda" and one would rapidly turn into 6 or more A DAY. Same thing with
cookies, ice cream, etc... I wasn't able to just "treat" myself - I would completely fall
off the wagon.

So here I am now at 420+ lbs (I say + because my scale "only" goes to 420 and it
errors out when I get on it), miserable and with knee and skin problems (psoriasis)
that I have no doubt would improve if I could lose the weight.

I'm married to a wonderful man who loves me in spite of myself, even though I
know he desperately wants me to lose weight too.

I walk each day to pick my son up at the bus stop so I get *some* exercise, but
it kills my knees and by the time I get home I just want to flop down into my
recliner and sleep. Ugh.

So that's my past and my present. I am working on a better future. Thanks for
reading.

Cynthia

Cynthia.

All journeys start with a single step. You're already taking numerous steps to the bus stop each day.

Now, pick yourself a plan and start afresh. One foot in front of the other.

We're here for you.

Congratulations for taking your first steps! Those steps to the bus stop will help every day. You found the right place-- the wonderful people on this site will help you with motivation, diet tips, encouragement, and real friendship too.
You can do this! You may want to get your family on board too-- they will benefit from more exercise, better quality food (less processed carbs, fast food and junk: more vegetables and good quality protein.) and a higher protein diet.
We are with you!!!!

Welcome, Cynthia! We're glad to have you with us.

One of the reasons I chose LC was because the people who had the most to lose seemed to do well on it. And now you know yourself and your "just one won't hurt" demon, you are in a place that you can succeed. That information gets you a ticket to avoiding what's held you back in the past.

I'm so glad to hear you have a loving, supportive spouse. He no doubt wants for you to be as healthy as possible and feel better. That will make things much easier.

I echo Maggie's advice to find yourself a plan and start getting oriented. The sooner you get busy, the sooner you'll be on your way and feeling better.

Welcome Cynthia! I hope you are doing okay. Having lost on LC before you KNOW it works. What I really like about LC is that you CAN eat REAL food. Not like the other types of weight loss programs. Just think of it as a way of life, a permanent change and you will do well.

Try "treating" yourself with something that is low carb and especially with no sugar. I tell everyone sugar is poison and then watch them eat their desserts and sweets and I don't even want a bite. That first tiny bite of this and that will lead to others so it is best not to take any.

Good luck and please come back and let us help you through this.
