    LAW1,

Let me also put forth that I have to be very conscious of whether I'm actually hungry or merely thirsty. Often, I think I'm hungry when I'm really thirsty.

Thanks, Jenn. I appreciate your offer of support. I will keep you posted.

Winter: I feel like we had a similar situation happen except that I didn't have any good reason (like medical tests) to eat carbs again. I just did it over vacation. Like you, it seems that once I started eating, it was really difficult to get back on track. I thought I would go right back to eating right (and I kind of did) right after vacation. But then a small transgression became a bigger one, etc., etc. and I was out of control. You have described exactly how I feel. I hope these suggestions help you also. They have really helped me get through this week.

Beansmom: I think you are right. The one really good thing I did the day after starting this topic is to get a 24 oz. cup and put 3 rubber bands around it at work. I then filled it and drank and removed one rubber band each time I finished. I drank at least 4 more glasses of water when I got home. I haven't been quite as good every day, but I have gotten at least two 24 oz. cups of water in at work every day. And tonight, I made big pot of tea (no caffeine). I was feeling munchy, but decided to drink a cup of tea first. And now I am sitting here feeling very satisfied and not having eaten anything!

Since my water-drinking/induction efforts, I feel like I am, if not back on track, at least veering toward the track. I am really working on water and vitamins and watching my lunches to make sure I stay very induction-ish (more veggies than induction, but that's all). My new resolution (developed tonight) is to go ahead and tell myself I can eat if I feel hungry in the evening, but to have a rule that I can eat only protein after dinner. It's interesting that tonight when I thought about eating some turkey slices, I didn't really feel "hungry" enough to eat them. This makes me realize that I am not taming hunger, I am taming the carb demons.

You are all so helpful. I really appreciate the support as I get moving again. Thanks!
