| Good luck Karen. I too started this woe with over 100 pounds to lose. So far I've lost 64. If I can give you some advise, give yourself some mini-goals. 100 pounds can be overwhelming. Don't give yourself a dead line to do it. I doubt you gained 100 pounds in a year. So if it takes a little or a lot longer to lose it, hey at least you are losing it and getting healthier. Victors are really just temporary quitters who then regroup with a vengeance. |

| Hi Karen, If the low-carb way of eating turns out to be right for you, you'll be surprised at how fast a 100-pound loss changes from seeming unattainable to seeming very realistic. When I first started, I looked a low carb as just another diet, albeit one that was supposed to work more quickly. It wasn't very long after I started that I realized that when I eat low carb, I just plain feel better. So, I was easily able to make the shift from "another new diet" to "a new lifestyle." Although I have lost a significant amount of weight, that's almost secondary now (but not quite, ha ha!) I realize I will be eating like this for the rest of my life because of how it makes me feel, and the resulting weight loss seems like more of a fringe benefit than the sole purpose for doing it. | I agree, don't put a deadline on your weight loss. I do mini goals. Usually 10 pounds at a time. I need to lose 107 and have lost 41 since end of May. We are in this together!!! Beckie 257/216.5/150 |

| Hi Karen You and I are close in weight. I weigh 256 down from 329. I have lost 73 lbs since January 2 and was trying to lose 100 lbs by Jan 31. But like eveyone has said it is best not to set up a certain time limit to lose it all. |
