I do. Since started this WOE I have written down every single thing that I've eaten. I think it helps you realize patterns and cravings.

I do too. Some peopel find this very helpful. For others it's more trouble than the benefits derived. What I like best about it is being able to go back and see where I can improve things. If I wonder why I lost nada this week I can see oh well I ate ham for lunch 4 times this week. Do you use a hand written journal or a food tarcking program? I use fitday now but when I started I had a hand written journal. Then I started using fitday and for a couple of months I did both the written ond online journals. When I was satisfied that Fitday was accurate enough I switched completely. But even still I keep a summary journal for the daily food values. Just one legal size page for each month. But that's a tremendous help when I'm looking for trends.

I've kept one every day since starting this WOE. I totally resisted doing it when I did WW and Jenny Craig. I do it now to be accountable to myself and also to spot trends of what I eat.

I told DH that if we died suddenly and someone had to go thru our stuff, they'd think I was insane because I have almost a year's worth of food journals in my desk. LOL!

Cheers!

Same here! I have the past three years of food documented! I have food journals, regular journals (going back from the time I was about 8), online journal printouts, and exercise log books. I find it very helpful because I can look back to see what worked and what didn't. When I feel lost or discouraged, being able to look back on everything, the good AND the bad, helps me decide where to go from here.

I made a personalized food journal using the large ringed scrapbooks you find at Walmart forabout $6 I decorated mine with comics for an uplifting laugh as well as stickers or whatever else I thought might brighten it up..depending on my mood of course.
