Scrambled eggs??? That would be yuck. Ground up & sprinkled over salad if you like, in lc hot cereal, or in lc muffins or pancakes.

No, definately don't want to use it in scrambled eggs. LOL.

Actually, my mom takes flax since she had some coworkers lost weight by eating golden flaxseed over their food.

It's got a nutty taste so it's good over salads, but it may take a little getting used too. Personally, I have taken it by the teaspoon. It's also recommended to use it in baked items.

I like using it as directed with Maggies Cereal - see the recipe section. It is a very good breakfast - I like to mix a little fruit into it. Its an easy way to get the flaxseed meal.

Thanks guys. So I will try sprinkling a little on my saled but I don't do any atkins products or fruit yet. Hopefully I will get used to it. I mean is this something I should get used to? Is it really benificial?

Be very careful about introducing the Atkins products (especially the bars) they can stall people sometimes. If you do add them, do it one at a time so you can tell if it is giving you any bad effects.

i chew the flax seeds.. kinda is an ART..*L* definitely not easy at first.. those little buggers are TINY..*L&*... also i put some in my coffee grinder or tiny food processor and grind into meal... add some water.. ground almonds and cayenne.. bake in oven slow.. and cut into cracker size shapes before it fully is cooked.. (i just spread it on a non stick cooking sheet with the back of a spoon)
yummy crackers.. great fiber.. LOVE it..

Flaxmeal is great in smoothies made with kefir. You could add some to a bit of the new LC yogurt. Maggie's cereal is good, too.

Take care~

Kim,
I am going to run into the kitghen and make some of your Flaxmeal crakers. I will mix a table sppn of parmsan cheese for variety or maybe some curry powder, I will let you know how they turn out. I assume slow oven is 250/300?
I guess I will have to experiment and let you know.
Have a happy day!

Maggie's cereal is the only way I can stand them. They are to slimy for my taste but in the cereal I don't notice them or the feel. Even muffins with them are slimy to me. Yuck!

I blend some mixed berries, half and half, and flax seeds for a smoothie treat. Yum!

rainbow.. i cook em at 250 for about an hour.. (cutting them into squares at about a half hour.. then i let them cool so they get really crisp... toss some in a ziplock bag for work... i tried them with the fake sugar and fake brown sugar.. to make a sweet cracker ICK ICK ICK.. THEY SUCKED hardcore.. course i hate fake sweetners.. so that could be the problem.. i also put garlic in my cayenne ones.. the spicier the better for me..
but truly ..honestly.. i LOVE grinding the seeds by my front teeth.. and eating them that way.. love the flavor.. and what great fiber!

btw.. i actually use three tablespoons of flaxseeds.. add water till it makes a thick paste.. i do flip the crackers over when almost done to get an EXTRA bit of crispness to both sides... i dont always grind almonds in.. but if i have a few extra i do.. i dont grind them till powdery.. but rather coursely ground for extra flavor and texture..
