Whatever it is, today is going much more smoothly than yesterday. I didn't do well, although my heart was in the right place. Today I did indulge in a bar of some sort while cautioning my best friend about the evils of sugar alcohols and false advertising and stalls, etc. Beware of the low carb products, munch munch.. you get the idea. I didn't do well with water but I ate well. I guess I was only 1/3 good. Maybe that's not so good after all but for me the eating part is the worst. Either I eat well or I eat really bad, not much of an in-between. I'm not as gung ho about this as I used to be. I just know this is the best thing for me and I have to do it. I miss my enthusiasm. I miss my positive disposition. I miss my energy.

I think I'll go drink some water...

That's the thing about this woe. When you eat well you want to eat well. You don't crave anything that isn't real food. But those sugar alcohol laden treats do a job on a lot of people's blood sugar levels and whammo. There goes the day. But the trick for me is getting up the next day and just saying well today is a new day and get back to eating right.
I was at my sister's house yesterday. She's type 1 diabetic for 38 ? years. I saw a box of hershey's sugar free choclates in her cupboard and asked if i could have some. They were mini bars so I ate 5 because that was what the box said was a serving. I enjoyed them since i rarely indulge in sf choclate. But what floored me was when she told me someone had given them to her for Christmas. 11 weeks and she still had half a box left. When i mentioned how amzing I thought her willpower was. She just shrugged and said that her son had eaten most of them. So I guess that's a lesson she's learned in 38 years of sugar free life. There are no good substitutes.

Hang tough sus, We all have those days. . .1/3 is better than 0 and that was the important 1/3 that you kept under control. Keep pushing the water and if you must have a bar--have half! Save the other half for later! I do tht a lot when I decide I need something like that--even the lc bags of chips I eat half then the other half in a couple of hours if I am still dying for that snack! Almost all my snacks I do that with, half then the otehr half the serving unless it is a planned snack like ham and cheese--little difficult to leave ham and cheese half eaten as it gets disgusting sitting on the counter for 2 hours.

    Sus....

What can bring back your energy...your enthusiasm? Let's try to think of something....

What about trying a new exercise plan?

Go to a new low carb health store...

Look up and try some new LC recipes...

    Start a journal....

    Go out dancing....

Take a walk in the woods, at the beach, on the river..etc.

Buy a great outfit...one size too small...hang it up somewhere you could see it....

Do something good for yourself.....buy a book, take a long candlelit bath, buy new make up....treat yourself like your best friend...

Chin up woman.....pull yourself up and out.....
    Muah....

    Peace, Joanna

    Oh you guys!

Thanks so much for your acceptance. I came back with my tail between my legs and feeling terrible. Maybe it was just the carbs talking. Detoxing is HARD! I feel so much better today. I'm drinking water and eating the right things. I've also been baking like crazy and I have no interest in eating any of it. Odd! Once I've passed through this phase I'll feel great, I know it. I did go have a pedicure... sheer bliss.

    Today feels good...

    Sus
