This is a continuation of the "whats your problem cheat" thread on a more positive spin

Let's hear it folks -- what keeps you focused? What helps you maintain motivation???

For me, it is the feeling of a good night's sleep when I've stayed in ketosis

Blessings!

Yeah! Think possitive.

I keep on going when my new size 8 Levis are feeling good! And my husband says, "honey I am so proud of you".

I have more than 1 to add, if I can

Fitting into a pair of jeans that were too tight 6 months ago.

Like Mary, my DH saying that he's proud of me and that I look good.

Co-worker said she was going to start calling me "slim".

My niece saying I'm the only woman out of our family who has ever stuck to a diet this long!

There are many more I can think of, but hearing this from my family & friends makes it all worth while. Even though I have a long way to go, it's forever.

Having the nurse at the Drs office yesterday call my name, the shock on her face, then saying "I didn't even recognize you, you have lost so much!" (Whic, BTW is now 80 lbs! )

Checking my blood sugar 4 times or so a day. I couldn't get that number to stay down or to even go down no matter what I tried. Until I tried LC eating on October 31, 2003.

I no longer have 100 pounds to lose, but started at a highest weight of 380. I am now around 215. I still have around 65 pounds to go.

As far as the weight loss goes, I keep myself focused in several ways. First of all, I have several forms of accountability. I continue to go to WW meeting every week. I know that I will have that WI on Tuesday, so it keeps me "good" on weekends. Also, I have my 6-Week makeover WI on Saturday, along with checking measurements, so that helps with the week-day tempations. I post my journal on this discussion board, as well as another, for all to see, so that, to me is a form of accountability. I also email my journal to 6 people, some of whom think that what I do should be emmualted. I know that when I am making my food choices. Also, I don't have children in the house, so I don't "have" to keep junk food around. I am not tempted by most LC substitute foods. I like seafood and LC veggies. I think all of this helps me stay on path. Now, I do think that if I were doing just CALP without the WW, I would choose more fatty food. If I weren't doing the 6-week makeover, I would have bread and cheese and such (sometimes). But, this all keeps me on my path.

Being on this woe for a year now, I don't even think about eating anything that isn't good for me. I love being able to slip into smaller clothes and know I can walk my dogs and not have people laughing at my size. I wouldn't want anything that isn't on my woe even if I could have it. I feel too great!!

I agree Reneed70. I look forward every day to reading what's up with everyone. Also, the extra energy I have is priceless. Baggy, baggy clothing is cool too.

I put together a little photo album with several "before" pictures, and several taken recently. I look at it almost every day. Not only do I look thinner now, but MUCH healthier and happier. I feel proud when I look at it, and I'm also looking forward to being able to add more pictures as I lose more!

Thanks to all of you on this site - I've learned so much from you all.

Alice

Feeling better (most of the time)! BP is under control with meds, finally!

It's this or the surgery. I hate being cut and going to doctors and this is so much easier than dealing with all that!

Feeling terrific every day keeps me going. Including being able to get into a size 14W slacks, something I haven't been able to do since I was 30 something. Not being out of breath after walking 10 steps. And finally knowing that you are all here if I need help keeps me going.
