...in a can of Swanson's vegetable stock! I usually like to cook my greens in vegetable stock (instead of smoked pork or turkey), cuz it adds a nice flavor without the fat. I know, I'm not worried about fat, but I like to cut it out where I think it's unecessary, like in veggies. Anyway, I just checked the label cuz that's become a habit now, and lo and behold: HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!!! Why in the world would you need HFCS in vegetable stock!! Needless to say I thru it away. I guess it's back to bacon to season my greens.
Boy!

Yes I noticed that with one brand of chicken stock I bought. I gave it away. I think butterball's chicken stock is unsweetened. wait let me go check. Okay I'm back.
Well there is a lot of unpronounceable ingredients but nothing that seems to be sugar. At least no "oses". It also has soy protein.

Yeah, these are called hidden carbs. There's a hidden carb calculator here you can use online. If you'd like one that opens in Excel, e-mail me at aprilreinhardt2@yahoo.com and I'll send you one.

ugg... what in the world.. when something says "veg stock, chicken stock, beef stock, " why do they have to add suggar... that is one thing that i realy havent read lables on.. grr.. guess i need to be a little more carefull.. im reddy to start makeing my own more often. I usta buy beef bones, chicken bones , and ham bones that would still have a little meat on them.. and would make my own stocks... the store i bought them at would hardly charge me beacuse they ususaly have to pay to have them disposed of anyway.. or they just go out w/ the trash... i guess it wouldnt hurt for me to get in contact w/ them about buying bones agin...

veggi stock i never realy bought much. beacuse i seem to always make my own w/ leftover tough pieces of veggies that i dont use for a dish or something... but since i dont eat carrots anymore.. and that seemd to have an awsome impact on my stock.. my stocks seem watery..
