Default Feeling tired and a tad weak even though I'm eating right and taking a multivitamin

I get this a lot when I low carb, the weak spells. It's usually caused by me not eating enough veggies, but heck...I've been eating those just fine. I think it's because I'm dreaming like crazy before I wake up. I've noticed if I dream a lot just before I awaken that I wake up tired.

Normally if I drink a V8 it does the trick, but I thought since I started a good multivitamin that I'd not be feeling these. I think it's the dreams, but I could be wrong. I thought I'd figured out the past causes, but aparently I'm missing something.

I am in keytosis, yet I wasn't loosing at all. Not an ounce and no inches either. I recall though my mom had the same problem the last time she tried lowcarbing even though she stuck to it religiously. She finally got discusted and went back to regular eating, but the next time she did it...she losts like crazy. I'm wondering if my body just needs to be "shocked" back into it? Maybe I should eat like normal today and try again tomorrow? Maybe that will stop the starvation switch that I think it's on. Any ideas?

Maybe you need to add some supplements in addition to a multi. Lack of energy can be caused by depleted electrolytes like potassium or magnesium. Especially magnesium. I've read that as much as 80% of the population doesn't get enough magnesium. I started taking magnesium about a month ago and my stamina was immediately improved when I exercised. It may have been coincidence but the week I began taking mag. I lost 2 1/2 pounds. I hadn't had more than a one and a half pound loss since the beginning of january. I also take potassium about 400 mgs a day. Magnesium about 500 mgs a day. B-complex is also an energy booster as is C0Q10 (which is expensive).
I might try the supplement approach before I risk the eat "normally" approach.

Thanks,it's possible, but usually it's due to my chronic low blood sugar. When I take v8 or up the veggies, I normally don't have this problem. Maybe I'm eating the wrong veggies? Not sure. Been eating a lot of lettue and even had a califlower.brocolli, carrot, cheese sauce medely lastnight. Hmm..it MIGHT be the califlower. I never thought about that. I found out that it likes to spike my bloodsugar if I eat it a bit. That may be the main reason, because I didn't feel like this lastnight.

Carrots are a bit high on the glycemic scale. That is my first thought.

Yeah, that's right forgot about that. But I only had like three tiny rectangles of carrots and about 5 small pieces of califlower. Could have been them mixing. Anyways, hopefully I'll be back to "normal" tomorrow. I can't check for keytosis today, ran out of sticks. :(

Lightbulb I've checked the bottle and this is what it's got vitamin wise.

It's got 99mg of potassium, but I drank a V8 juice anyways as it usually helps. it's got 360mg of potassium in it and it's only a 5.5 ounce can. No magnesium listed though. I thought it was a decient amount until I read the v8 can. LMAO.

Rob, you might be right..it may very well be lack of potassium which would explain why the v8 juice works. I may have to start another supplement with the multi. Thanks for the headsup.

I did a search and found this:
CNS (central nervous system) drugs, such as Amitriptyline (an antidepressant Elavil), Chlorpromazine (an antipsychotic Thorazine), and Imipramine (an antidepressant related to Elavil called Tofranil) all interfere with riboflavin.

So at least I know the multi vitamin will replace the loss of riboflavin. I never thought about the Amitriptyline that the dr. put me on would deplete things. I'd forgotten to check as I know a number of medications will do this.

This is where I found what drugs deplete what.

Here is the URL that tells what all the multivitamin has in it.
