Default Subway salads

I just bought my first Subway Atkins salad and I was shocked when it came to $10.14 for a salad and small diet pop. I think that is too much for a salad. Not only that, when I got back to the office, I found the fellow had sprinkled small croutons all through the salad. Didn't make me happy. Any one else have comments?

Cool Re: Subway salads

Something was totally amiss--I have eaten at least 25 subway Atkin's salads and never been charged over 4.99 for any of them. I love the veggie delight and the club--I don't like spinach so that one I can't speak to--but witha drink it is usually around 6.50 with tax. I have eaten many of their wraps too and really like those--have to watch them with the dressings or you don't get the regular ones but--the Chicken bacon ranch one is great.

I agree, I only pay $4.79 +tax for the salads. They always ask me if I want each item in my salad as they are making it. Also, they have never asked me if I want croutons, but they do have some delicious almonds.

I have to laugh though, they always ask if I want chips with that

You might talk to the manager about that. Sometimes they will take care of it and make amends.

I've not tried their Atkins salads yet, but I enjoy the Hardees Breakfast Bowl. It's pretty good. And a coffee shop in the local mall is now serving Atkins friendly Latte I think it is..or some sort of coffee. lol I know everyone is jumping on the bandwagon, but darn it's so nice to be able to eat in the same places the family does now. It makes my choices so much easier.

This low carb stuff is expensive, but not that expensive. I hate that the wraps are more than the 6 inch sub for less food :-(

Honestly, that is the one thing that erks me. For instance, Hardee's Low Carb Burger, it costs more than buying a regular burger and getting rid of the bun. I think I payed about $4.00 I forget the change, just to get a Low Carb Buger and a diet soda. Heck, I can get a combo, burger, drink, and fries, for a little less, depending on what I get, and come out to the better. (my son gets the fries) lol.

As for their Low Carb Breakfast Bowl, it's fairly thick layered. Even my son said it looked good to him and he's not easy to please. So that one is worth a little extra.

I have a gripe with Subway's salads too. I wanted a salad with tuna on top. The woman said they put 2 scoops of tuna on. I asked her for more because the scoops, as you probably have seen, are fairly small. She gave me 1 scoop more and she charged me $2.00 extra dollars for it! It was so expensive and really, not worth the money.

Well - I had Quizno's for lunch today - and it was DELICIOUS!!! Awesome! It's the new flat bread. I had the Mesquite Chicken (all Atkins friendly stuff in it) - and it was 9.5 carbs (after you take out the fiber of course). My husband I and spent the day with our daughter at Astroworld yesterday - and had nothing cooked to bring to work for lunch - so I had to wing it. It was awesome to be able to go...hmmm... subway? nahh... Quizno's....SURE! I tried it, not expecting much - but was wonderfully suprised.

my husband brought me 2 quiznos home last week.. its a fifty mile trip so i told him no sauces on them ... he brought a mesquite chicken and a angus beef one... the chicken one was pretty yummy... the beef was yuck.. and thats kinda wierd.. cause i prefer beef SO much over chicken... anywho.. flatbread was pretty darn good considering it went for an hour drive and was micro'd on arrival..
gotta try that when i am actually IN town to taste fresh and thanks for the carb count rhalvahn.. i had no clue..
