Sauce...???

Question Sauce...???

I am italian, and love to make homemade tomato sauce... I was wondering if tomatoes were too high in carbs to be considered for this plan or if I could make my sauce and put it over my meats... I love to actually cook my meat in the sauce, like pork, or chicken... it comes out so tender and yummy?

I believe most tomato sauces have about 5 carbs per 1/2 cup. I still have it, just not often. I like to make my own. I also enjoy homemade salsa over grilled chicken. Mmmm! Can't wait for the fresh tomatoes!

I think tomatos are allowed. You do have to watch your intake and count the carbs. I use them as a once in a while thing. Watch your keytosis level too. If you check your keytosis more than once after having them, you'll find out how your body will react to the tomatos and you'll also learn where your limit is.

Yes. ... and don't forget that tomatoes are little micronutrient powerhouses. Very much worth the trade-off of being a little on the carby side. I couldn't live without them either. I'm half Sicilian by genetics (and 100% when it comes to food. LOL!)
