    Unhappy Blahhhhhhhhh

Stressed this week and I don't know why. It's a jumble of emotions all rolled into one....alone, scared, sick to my stomach. I call it blahhhhhhh! I've been reaching for snack things alot....all lc mind you but it's driving me crazy. I was hoping for advice on how others handle stress without snacking. Its something I need to learn!

I think that's something a lot of us need to learn, Sandy. Turning to food for comfort is a big problem for many; and just subbing lc treats for "bad" ones is not the answer, as you have said.
Try some meditation techniques to fight stress. I find a quiet place, light a scented candle, try to make my mind a blank, and just breathe. It works wonders to calm your nerves.
Gently stretching your muscles will help, too. A hot bath or shower with a great-smelling soap, a few yoga stretches, and you will feel the tension drain away.
Give yourself some non-food gifts; a little reward for your hard work is in order, right? A small bottle of a light Summer scent, a pair of shoes (my personal fave ), that book you've been wanting, a new lipstick; anything that makes you feel special and pampered. Feeding the soul is as important as feeding the body.
I hope this helps you; let me know how you're doing, ok?

I usta go to the gym as a way of relaxing.. yes it sounds like "how can you relax at the gym" but i did... i felt better... and i was doing something good for me...
well since my gym closed last week and im inbetween gyms right now i have been going for walks... nice long walks .... if im mad about something i will go for a jog... (i dont know your health stats but becarefull if you decided to jog you do not want to make your heart rate go up to high... ) i have gone to a gym and know what my heart rate should be at while exersizeing..

The candle thing is a good one too... I will line my bath tub (garden style ) w/ candles and insence, and soothing music. or agin if i was in an mad mood i will turn on an up beat music then befor i get out of the bath ill start toneing the music down.. listening to calming music isnt easy if your enraged, Talking to people seems to help me alot if you have anyone .. heck just go online talk to people you dont know it just helps to get things off your mind...

GOODLUCK.. hope things come around for you!

see. I'd get all stressed out about my ugly feet if I tried to do that. Heck, won't even wear sandals out in public.
We all have our 'concerns', right?

Thanks Trina....most of the time I'm relaxed but when feeling the blahhhs I know I'm grumpy and edgy. A hot bath just might do the trick. Working off the extra energy cleaning a room in my house is what a friend at work told me. I would hurt myself that way and when the blahhh feeling is over I'd have a beautiful house.
Gilley, sorry you're in between gyms. It sounds like that really works for you. Cgilson, I've never had a pedicure in my life but it does sound great and relaxing. Trouble is I can't afford it right now. LOL Mary Kay about your feet.....I call my feet dainty and my daughter says their buttugly. We tease each other about our toes but it stops neither of us from wearing sandals. And you're right we all have our 'concerns'.
Anyway thanks for replying....it's a sad place to be right now for me but I believe I'll get thru it. A little relaxation, walk or cleaning might bring me around instead of feeding my blahhhs. huggggggggs u4

best way for ME to relax is to read a book.... something about escaping MY reality for a few hours is really really wonderful...hmmmmmmmm
a thread for what everyone is reading or has read would be nice in the EVERYTHING ELSE board..;-)

Nothings worked so far this week. I've sat in total silence and my mind just runs wild and that drove me crazy. I've worked on my daughters bedroom, getting it painted and such but still don't feel right. Today at work I almost cheated. Now call me paranoid but that is a huge fear for me. I can see myself giving up because I'm thinking about cheating. I've worked very hard since March to lose 23 lbs and it just galls me that I even think I can pick up a breadstick of all things. I didn't taste it but the smell made me whine inside. Yelling at myself does seem to do some good. "CHOICES" With these blahhhhs I feel hopeless and unsure of everything with this WOE. I don't want to be this heavy forever and I'll fight thru this. I believe I'm addicted to carbs and this is the best way of dealing with that addiction for the rest of my life. Maybe I'll try a good brisk walk or watch a movie to get my mind off of me and food. Somethings got to break soon so I can have some peace within myself. WHEWWWW HUGE VENT!!!

sandy, sorry you are having such a rough time! :(

i think you need to reward yourself for that 23 pounds you lost! celebrate! :silly:

a movie would be a great way! or treat yourself to something LC that you usually don't have/cannot afford. :fork:

    tomorrow will look better!

Think Thin...thin....I tell myself that I can't let food rule my world anymore, that I need to take charge and keep. And that I love myself too much to cheat myself out of the healthy body that I should be in. And a breadstick is only to make your matters worse than they are!

Hang in there and be strong
