I can't seem to stay focused this time. While I've not jumped fully out of keytosis, I can't seem to stick as closely to the diet as I would like. Not sure why.

Anyone else having the same problem?

if you're having a tough time staying on-plan, you may want to consider cutting down on the lc treats and see if that helps? i love them myself, and certainly understand the drive to eat 'em, but i also notice that sometimes, certain ones set off my drive to eat stuff that's not good for me.

goddess-

that is exactly what happened with me. my mom is lc'n with me... anyway, she has always had a huge sweet tooth. so... she was out shopping and found some zero-carb "peppermint patties". i knew better, but i ate one anyway. later that night i told mom that those treats were just plain evil!!!! it woke up a beastly craving for sweets!! she is still eating them but thinks she has stalled. :(

This happens to me too!! If I eat some low carb treats, even though I dont think it sets up and actual pysical craving for me, I just want more of the taste--then my "clean" foods don't appeal.

The cleaner I eat, the better I am able to stay on, and the more motivated I stay. Hmmm having said this I wonder if is IS a physical thing that I just don't want to acknowledge?

I hate this reality, because I love the LC treats!!

Wow, well i do have my treats kinda frequently and im not really having any problems with them at all. My only weakness is ice cream. i can a piece of choc. candy every so often, but have to have the ice cream rather frequently. Hmmmm, but now im wondering, maybe if i refuse to buy them will i get control of my attachment to it.

not buying them would be best, but then again.... if you are going to have something, the lc treats would be better than regular sugary treats. *sigh*

i think i'm going to stay far away from the lc treats! the mock danish will be my choice!

The lc treats definitely threw me off - they taste GREAT, but it does not work for me. Definitely doing better now that I've left the lc ice cream alone.

:silly: The Russell Stover Candies are my downfall. Cannot stop with one piece. So no more will be purchased!!!

I bought some cream cheese and am going to do some low carb cheese balls to have for snacks/munchies moments --- One that is good is to mix in a little peanut butter, splenda - and then roll in unsweetened coconut. These are also good to drizzle a bit of zero carb chocolate syrup on them.

I just want to tell you that I honestly know how you feel, I started back on the Atkins this last monday and I am also having a hard time this time around, Im on my 4th day, the first 3 days I was going through some SERIOUS sugar withdrawls, today I woke up and for some reason that sugar addicted edge was gone, It was really weird. I have been following this program to the best of my ability but I think I know what helped, I found out after researching a little more, we are allowed fruits and veggies, even on the induction. I had my friend over for dinner and she brought fresh strawberries. well I was about to pass on them, but I was craving something sweet, so I looked up carbs on strawberries, only 3.2 grams of carbs for a whole cup, well I didnt have a cup I had maybe 3-4 and it took that craving away almost immediately, strawberries have never tasted so good to me like they were last night. and it wasnt cheating, even in the induction you have 20 grams to play with. a little fruit goes a long way. and the truly amazing thing about it, I am not much of a fruit eater and never have been, but maybe being deprived of the usual sugary, hi carb treats I have ate in the past, it sure substitutes well. hope this helps!

I'm assuming that you are in the Induction period, since you made that statement. As far as fruit goes, it is not allowed on Induction. See item number four here from the Atkins site about Induction foods. Also, read this for further information concerning fruit.

My two cents...

April is right about induction, it's important to clear your bod of the bad stuff. But strawberries are better than other things. So do what you gotta do.

I'm sitting here writing this after pounding down some KitKat bites, and I'm kicking myself.

Remember we didn't get here overnight. We need to learn new lifelong habits to get this weight off and keep it off. I know what I have to do, but I'm struggling, I have to admit.

strawberries, yep that's what I should've done.

ray-actually, losing that sugar drive isn't weird. it's a byproduct of following the plan. once you get through your "detox," you don't have the cravings like before. cool, huh?
