Default Going On Vacation

I'm new to this forum. I started induction a week and a half ago. I started at 248 and when I weighed in at one week, I lost 5 lbs. The first few days were really hard, but I did not cheat, and just like everyone says, I lost my cravings. I'm happy with my results so far and very proud of myself. I'm doing this for my 3yr old daughter. I want to be in shape for her. I don't want her to be embarrased by me.

Anyways, we are going on a 7 night cruise in 12 days. Any advice to get me through the week. I want to stay another few weeks on induction, but the problem is that will run into my vacation. Do you suggest that I stay on induction? Is that a wise decision given the circumstances. I've been out to dinner 4 times sinces I've been on induction. Each place I went to has a low carb menu so I did fine.

Well, just thought I would get some advice. I'm new to this forum and look forward to talking to you all.

Hey there and WELCOME!

You will love it here, and will find a great network of support amongst us LCERS!

I also have a 3 year old daughter that I am doing this for. Yes I do it for me, but my daughter is the one that keeps me going. So I hear you on that 1!

Have a great time on your cruise!

oh yeah, and about staying on Induction while on the cruise. YES YES YES!!! What I have grown to realize while I have been learning about low carbing, is that you can find food that you can eat just about everywhere. Don't be afraid to ask for the nutrition facts on the labeling of what you are eating. You paid for the cruise, you have the right to know! So just be careful and have FUUUUN in the SUN!

Hi Tigg and welcome aboard. Great job on your loss so far. My personal suggestion would be to move forward with the carbs, you have to find out what your carb limits are and if you have done induction strictly and exactly as you should have then you should go forward. Your body really needs the variety of veggies, fruits and foods you get to enjoy with OWL. OWL also allows you the ability to figure out just what will work for your body and what wont, it sorta helps you figure out how you gonna do this thing for a lifetime without getting bored or becoming unhealthy or giving in to too many temptations. At least that has been experience, OWL has allowed me to reteach myself about my new body thats under construction.
Try not to get caught up into the idealogy that if you lost that much during induction then if you stay there you will continue to lose like that, it wont happen like that at all.

Good luck with whatever you decide, Happy low carbing.

i would say that you can stay on plan during the trip if you so choose.. they should have buffets and TONS of food..(thats what i hear anyway..:-( never been on any cruise)
i came back from two days trip to coast.. i had salads.. salad with shrimp (BURGER KING).. TACO SALAD (skip the beans if they have it and the shell) i had breakfasts to die for.. eggs /bacon ect.
you can do it if you WANT to.. but if you are somewhat lax.. get back on program when you return.. its UP TO YOU!!! ;-)

Enjoy your vacation--eat as close to plan as possible--but it is OK to allow yourself to enjoy the sugary stuff too now and then! Just drink your water and survey the damages when you get back--then get back on the plan--but it is very mch up to you how you want to proceed.
