| Yes, another question from me...for you...ummm...again! I have a question about all of this net carbs and full carbs stuff. For instance, before I began reading the Atkins book and started Induction, I was "SOMEWHAT" watching my carbs. For about a week. During that time I found a YUMMY wrap at Subway. (BACON & TURKEY MELT) So I fell in tummy heaven w/ that. But there are more carbs in it, before you take some away, which gives it it's net carbs. Ummm, what is that all about? Should I not have it, or is it ok to have because of the NET carbs being low? Will it be ok when I start my OWL? What is the exact difference between the two? Does it matter so much? And while I have you here...what does WOE AND WOL stand for? :o Thanks again! |

| woe= way of eating wol = way of life there is a list of these shortenings in the newbies site, acronyms.... lol-laugh out loud, etc.... Net carbs/full carbs/figureing out Net carbs in some circles is carbs minus fiber, and sugar alchol however, some have a problem with sugar alchol, and just deduct the fiber. so, full carbs is the total of all these items in the carb count. I for one only deduct the fiber, so if something is 10 carbs, with 5 fiber, and 3 sugar alchol, they may say they have 2 net carbs, but I would only count 5 net carbs. hope this helps, I was confused also, when I started I just counted the regular carb count without deducting. The fiber is something that goes thru your system and has a low impact on you blood sugar levels.

| WOE - Way Of Eating, WOL - Way Of Life Many of us consider Atkins to be a WOL, and consider it how we will be living the rest of our lives. And keep reinforcing that with the WOL. WOE just seems a little more temporary. Atkins numbers are based on the 'net' carbs, which means fiber is deducted from the total carbs. In the way of Subway wraps, the fiber is mostly contained in the wrap - there are not a lot of veggies. Some stress that most of your fiber should come from vegetables during induction and beyond - and that having the wraps during induction reduces your vegetable intake. But the Subway wraps and others like it do fit into the Atkins WOE and WOL nicely - just don't have them too often.

| WOE = way of eating WOL = way of life Net carbs or effective carb content (ECC) = carbs minus dietary fiber As with anything you consume, make sure you take a look at the ingredients. Do not rely solely on the carb content on the label. If there is sugar in the ingredients, be wary.

| the subway wrap was good until i had the Arbys turkey bacon ranch wrap, ooooooo, now that is a good sandwich. They put more stuff in their wrap than Subway, you can get satisfied off half a wrap.

Kim: I am pretty sure she's saying that she ate those food items before she knew better -- before she read the book and before she started Induction. Colorado: You list your begin date as 06-01-04 on your profile. If so, then you should just now be wrapping up Induction, and I'd stay away from those wraps during Induction. My two cents...
