What a "serving" is.

"5-A-Day Low Carb Club" at Low Carb Diet Support: "http://www.5aday.gov/whatsaserving.shtml I thought everyone would get a kick out of seeing what constitutes an "official" serving of fruit or veggies *giggle* ONE cup of leafy veggies?? well my goodness, I go beyond 5 a day ...."

well my goodness, I go beyond 5 a day with one salad!

So much for this WOE being all bacon and fat!!!!

Me too! Well... I come close. Usually have 3-4 cups romaine with 1/2 cup sliced cukes, and sometimes avocado or tomato, too.

Guess I've probably already had my 5 today... with a whole can of green beans being 3 1/2, plus I had cabbage w/breakfast. Will have a big salad w/dinner, too.

look closer - the 1 cup excludes lettuce and spinach. guess more of those is considered a serving.
I always wondered too.

.... mmmmmm... I think, in this context, "ex" means "example", as in "for example."

Maybe I'm reading it wrong?
