| I forgot yesterday I had a half an avocado. Today I had a green and a yellow zucchini squash and 1/4 cup onions and 1/4 cup tomatoes sauteed for supper and an ounce of baby carrots (not quite a serving). All together a good day.

| Hi everyone, Newbie here. I really like the idea of this forum because I need to get as many veggies in as possible. I am following a low carb plan of sorts, probably closer to Scwarzbein than anything, except I am trying to get most of my carbs in with vegetables and a little fruit. Because I am doing long distance swimming as well I am trying to tweak the diet to suit my training at the moment. I would like to join in on the 5 a day check in - that might just keep me motivated to continue on the right path. Today was not a good one for that but I will start concentrating tomorrow! Marloe |

| I eat Atkins style--usually get in about 70 gs a day of carbs and swim 1200 yards 4-5X a week. The protein helps keep me going and not the carbs--I do 1200 yards in about 35 minutes.

| This is good news - someone who does lowcarb and swims! I need to talk to my dietician and get some positive feedback from someone who does this. Have you been swimming this much for long and do you ever do a long distance race at all? I am doing a mile in March and have just started training. I am up to 1100 metres so far (which I do 4 times a week) and I want to be sure I am getting the right kind of nutrition for this event. Nutrition that will help me not cramp as well. Any help and advice will be gratefully received.Marloe |

| 1 cup of salad greens 1 cup of brussel sprouts with a little onion 1 small mango Still trying for more vegetables. It is mango and litchi season here in South Africa and it is hard not to have loads of fruit, but it's going well so far. I am resisting the urge to splurge. Since it is summer, salads abound so I will do more tomorrow. |

| Doing one week of induction. I just can't seem to stay on track this month. But I am having more than the 2 cups lettuce and 1 cup regular veggies. Three cups lettuce and two cups string beans. I've got fresh raspberries and blueberries that now I must freeze. Kind of defeats the purpose but they will be a nice treat next week.

| 3C salad veggies, berries adn cream--not so good today--had a farewell dinner tongiht--no veggies available--so I ate meat and a few potato wedges and left it at that!
