    Default Daily check-in: January

Here is where we come to check in and be accountable for getting those 5-a-day in of our veggies and fruits.

It may help you to be accountable for getting the veggies and fruits we all need. Even if you don't it's nice to have a place to talk about it!

Today I had a big cobb salad from McDonalds (you know I checked the numbers on their website and aside from the incredibly large sodium number they aren't too bad if you use your own dressing). I was on the go this afternoon so I didn't get veggies in for lunch. But I did manage to get back to Sunflower market and my fridge is stocked with fresh veggies now!

I think I stopped checking in when I did a re-Induction back in October. A new year is a time for new starts, so let's see how I measure up today....

Not too good! I only had a salad today, some onions earlier, and a little bit of peach in the yogurt I had.

Maybe checking in again will help me be more aware of getting those crucial veggies into my daily menu!

Mushroom (just one, but it was a biggie), spinach, cabbage...plus 1/4C of onion. (every little bit counts!)

Hmm.. This looks like a good challenge for me.. I have no problem getting protein in (roast chicken in abundance at the grocery store 3 doors down from work). Ham & chive cream cheese for breakfast - not off to such a good start. :(

Starting induction today..was going to wait til tomorrow, but why wait...may as well do it now...weekends are not my best time for veggies, though I will get a few in by bedtime...So it will be cucumber with dressing=2 servings, 1C broccoli steamed with butter (2 servings) small salad (1Cup) and I have my 5 servings today!

I had some peach yogurt for breakfast.....does that count? LOL! I had a salad at lunch, and some peas (only half a cup.....lots of carbs, ya know), so I'm quite sure that's not 5. But, starting to post on this thread again has made me more aware!

Had 1 1/2 baby zucchini for breakfast, 2 cups romaine lettuce and one roma tomato for supper. I am one vegetable over for induction but I think it's OK. I'll be back to 5 in a couple weeks but until then I'll do 4.

Welcome, Maggie - in this thread people just input the vegies & fruit they are eating. If you post an introduction in one of the other forums like "Newbies" you'll get a nice welcome from many of us.

Today" celery, onion, asparagus, banana squash, brussel sprouts.

I think I need this challenge as well! Let's see... had a chicken BLT Salad from Wendy's for lunch, which I'm sure must have at least two servings (they are so big I don't eat all the lettuce) and cauli and broccoli for dinner. I'll count that as four since unsure about the salad. Need to add another one in there somewhere tomorrow.

I had a cup and a half of lettuce with one whole roma tomato (1/2 cup) in a salad for lunch. One whole cucumber for supper, about a cup. Tomorrow I'll be adding something else. I am staying low enough for induction I can afford more than three cups of veggies.
