Wow, you did good anyway!

I went to the picnic and my plate consisted of a sausage and a hamburger patty from the grill, a slice of cheese, some lettuce, some Miracle Whip Lite (yikes, that's all there was), and some raw veggies w/parmesan cracked pepper dip. Then, a latecomer brought some stuffed mushrooms. Man, were they good. I had 2. I found out later they had breadcrumbs in them. I should've known.

I didn't find any lowcarb wine coolers, but got some Bacardi LowCalorie/LowCarb Green Apple things. They were okay, and 4.5 carbs each. I'm not much of a drinker. I had 2.

Then, alcohol-weakened (LOL!) I had 1 peice of my friend's toffe bars. It was about an inch square and to die for! I made myself a diet tea for the road, and ate one more of those bars on the way home.

Not perfect, but better than last year. Between the alcohol and the toffee squares, I will probably be up a pound or two tomorrow.

Total:small apple this morning, lettuce, raw veggies, some cantaloupe. Only 4. The green apple was only a flavoring and doesn't count as a fruit!

Breakfast was an omelet with 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup diced celery, 3 cups of fresh spinach (wilted), a little italian ground beef, and 1and 1/2 oz cheese. Lunch will be grilled pork and cauliflower rice pilaf (the last of it). Dinner will be a 1/2 of a half of chicken breast stuffed with andouille sausage and pepper jack cheese (we have found that by the time I flatten 1/2 of a chicken breast and then stuff and roll it, one roll is enough for my wife and I to share for a meal.), served over 2 oz of dreamfields linguini with 1/4 cup marinara sauce and a salad of leaf lettuce, cucumber, grape tomatoes, and stuffed green olives. I got some low carb icecream on the way home from church, so I may have a little vanilla bean icecream with fresh strawberries for dessert.

Yep, I was up a pound. I earned it, for sure.

Today I've had broccoli, a salad, and 3 small peaches. Imagine that....me getting in 5!

Today was strawberries on Maggie's cereal for breakfast; lunch was italian seasoned ground beef with marinara sauce, and a mixed leaf lettuce salad with grape tomatoes, cucumber, green onion, and stuffed olives; dinner will be dijon pork chop, fauxtatoes and broccoli, and strawberries for dessert. Tomorrow will not be good. Breakfast will be pancakes with strawberries, lunch will be 2 protein bars as I don't expect the golf tournament box lunch to have anything I care to eat. Hopefully, the awards dinner will have something, maybe a vegatable and meat.

Bad day: I forgot my peach this morning. I only had some raw veggies for snack prior to lunch. That's it. This is the worst menu day I've had in a long time. Tomorrow is another chance to do better!

I would like to keep count of my fruit and veggies too if I may join you? (I"m not on Atkins so don't pass out with shock at some of my menus - although I'll try to spare your senses by trying to list only the fruit and veg intake. I do count carbs and calories though - vigilantly!)

I'm only aiming for 2 fruits per day (I'm a fair wretch on fruit given half a chance!) but 4 veg serves - so I had strawberries (breakfast - with other stuff of course!) lunch was lightly steamed broccoli and cauliflower with shaved parmesan and some guacamole - dinner was curried tofu with green beans, pumpkin, zucs, broccie. Dessert I'm having papaya and small amount of low fat natural yoghurt (with green tea)

Beachfox, you are certainly welcome to post here. This is just a way of reminding ourselves to get our 5 fruits and/or veggies per day. I usually don't, but this reminds me I need to!

Today I had raw veggies and a tiny peach for snack. I had another little peach with lunch and another for my afternoon snack. I normally would not eat 3 in one day, except for they are getting VERY ripe and I don't want them to spoil before I can eat them! This evening for dinner I had a salad. Imagine that.....I actually had 5+ servings today!

Heya Maxibee thanks.

I'm usually pretty good with the veg - but I eat too much fruit unless I get reminded (very strongly!) The Aus government has tele ads with 2+5 days for 2 fruits and 5 veg - so between this forum and the tele - I couldn't possibly get it wrong!!! This is what is so good about this forum eh - there are so many good sections to it. Since I joined the green tea drinkers my consumption of that has gone up (it couldn't have gone down!) and I REMEMBER to do it! Its good also because I know others are doing the same thing and getting healthy - that's always a bonus when DH looks at me strangely and says 'not MORE green tea' - that's because he doesn't like it - if it was chocolate frogs I was eating he would be congratulating me!!

Welcome beachfox!

Today I had strawberries with Maggies cereal for breakfast, then a cobb salad with a few shredded carrots, olives, spinach, and homemade french onion soup, then for dinner another salad with cherry tomatoes.

I think I did pretty well and great job to you too Maxi!

Hey Biddy22 - thanks for the welcome!

Today I had 2 fruits - strawberries & paw paw (sorry papaya) and 5 veg - asparagus, celery, cucumber, onion and carrot. O no - wait - I tell a lie - I ate one date - which counts as a fruit on my plan - drat! I always get worried that I'll be hungry on my beach walk. I have huge problems getting used to how far I can go on such (for me!) small portions. I had an asparagus salad for lunch about noon - and because the tide was low at 2PM I worried that I might get down the other end of the beach and get really hungry, so I succumbed to a date. Foolish fox - I don't really think I NEEDED it - I have to trust my knowledge of the food groups better and believe in their functions!

I did better yesterday than I thought I would be able with the golf tournament. With 2 servings of strawberries w/ whipped cream on pancakes for breakfast, and "sandwiches" with multiple wraps of large lettuce leaves for dinner, I got my 5 servings in, I think. I had a cholesterol/glucose blood screening at a work health fair this morning, so breakfast afterwards of "deviled egg roll-ups" with jalepenos was the best I could do. Lunch will be a mixed lettuce salad with grape tomatoes, cucumber, green onion, and stuffed olives and italian seasoned ground beef w/marinara sauce. Dinner will be a large taco salad with lettuce, tomatoes, green onions and jalepenos. The results of the screening demonstrate the healthfulness of this WOE for me. Total cholesterol-157, HDL-56, tri-glicerides-less than 45 (so low that they are outside the measuring parameters of the testing machine), and LDL so low that it also could not be measured, so it was listed as N/A.

Today, I had strawberries, broccoli, and bamboo shoots, and strawberries again - not 5, but close. I should have had that spinach that was staring me in the face earlier at lunch. I guess there's always tomorrow.

Had banana for breakfast - probably strawberries for dessert (2 fruits) eggplant as babaganoush for lunch with celery, carrot, cucumber and tomato. Am having goats cheese and tomato tartlets (without the pastry) for dinner with spinach on the side (oops that's 6 veg - but I only had half servings of most of them!) so that's OK.
