Okay, carrots and celery for snack, green beans with lunch (that salmon was delish!) 2 big strawberries afterward, a tasty little Golden Delicious apple on the drive home, and a salad with dinner. Now THAT'S the way to do 5-a-day! (or was it 6?)

Looks like today is shaping up much like yesterday - bing cherries, green peppers, tomatoes - planning big salad for dinner.

I was so hungry this morning, I ate a small apple on the way to work! Carrots and celery for snack, green beans (the half can the dog didn't get) at lunch plus some CarbClever peaches. At dinner, I had my usual salad. I'm measuring that as 6!

Yesterday i did better than average I think. Let's see - Romaine, spinach, tomato, tomato sauce, cucumber, radishes, zucchini, yellow squash, avocado and mushrooms.

I did really well yesterday with veggies, I'm on induction but am managing to eat more than the recommended veggies by eating the lower carb ones. Yesterday I had a big 2-3 cup lettuce salad for lunch and then when I got home I had about a cup and a half each of broccoli and cauliflower.

Yesterday - banana, strawberries, tomato, spinach, celery, onion, cucumber, carrot, zucchini (but not all of those are full servings) On my DASH (for high B/P) I'm supposed to have 3-4 of Veg and 4 Fruit - but I switch it around because I'm not too good on that much fruit or else I halve the portions to make 1 whole.

I guess I need to start a June 5-a-Day thread.....
Today I had carrots, celery, and a small apple for snack, and some green beans and okra for dinner. Not quite 5, but close.

I ate lots of salad yesterday. I wanted brussel sprouts for supper but didn't have any butter...I like butter on them and was willing to do without. So I had like 6 cups of lettuce throughout the day. Should have had something else as well, but today I will definitely be having more variety.

Not so good for me so far....I only had some yogurt w/a little fruit in it this morning. Imade turkey chili and it has onion, tomatoes, and jalapenos in it. I know I'll have a salad this evening with dinner.....maybe I'll have a small can of asparagus, too. A small apple would finish off my 5. That's the plan.

Maxibee - do you get fresh asparagus there? Its really delicious lightly steamed - I have it heaps! I also have fresh fruit with small amount of yoghurt in my breakfast shake and another small fruit in the evening with the rest of my yoghurt serve (I split my portions to get 1) Got all my veggies in yesterday - spinach, tomato, celery, carrot, bean shoots and herbs (coriander, basil, parsley and mint)

Not so good yesterday with the veggies but today I have ahd a half a bag of cauliflower already which is like two cups and I bought lettuce and zucchini at the store so I will have more veggies this evening.

The best thing is that the peaches are here! They were $0.88/lb for Geargia and white California peaches. I had never had white epaches so I bought some Georgia peaches. We actually have really good Colorado peaches but not for a while yet. I also got some fresh strawberries. Which I will eat more often than the peaches but a half a peach is an extra special treat for me.

Now that I'm back from playing with my grandkids, I can resume my entries. Breakfast was pancakes w/ strawberries & whipped cream. Lunch ws a chef's salad w/lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber, green pepper and stuffed olives. Dinner was a mixed leaf lettuce salad, grilled beef patty, and zucchini carbonara.

I think I pulled this one out of the fire today.....I had some fried okra again today. I know, I know! And a salad. Then I had some more salad and some strawberries. If it wasn't 5, it was darn close. I do better during the week days!

I do better during the weekdays as well, Maxibee. Weekends are so up in the air sometimes.

I finished yesterday with 5 but I didn't feel like making anything else so all five were from cauliflower. It's a good thing I don't get bored with food too easily.
