| Happy Anniversary, Henry. I cannot imagine (in my present situation) being with the same person for that long and not smothering them in their sleep....but I applaud you for the longevity of your marriage....since it obviously agrees with you. If MY spouse would eat the things I eat....we may not be facing all the medical problems and surgeries he is going to have to correct his hernias and severe reflux......all more or less preventable by lowcarb eating and the weight loss that ensues. I know mashed potatoes and onion rings are horrible things to claim on this thread....but they are the only f's or v's I had today. None at breakfast, no lunch at all, and I indulged tonight in preparation for a fresh start tomorrow. I have a bag of salad, lots of canned/frozen veggies and meats, and a nice fresh cantaloupe to get me started. Oh, and lots of water, too.

| Breakfast was Maggie's cereal with a couple of servings of strawberries. Lunch was a lettuce salad w/roma tomato, cucumber, green onions, and stuffed olives, and a square of my 10 pound zucchini lasagna w/mushrooms & onion. I think I had my 5 servings in those 2 meals, but there was no dinner as I was working until midnight trying to close a deal (which cratered just before the midnight deadline) and I was too tired to eat when I got home.

Since dh hates grocery shopping I've stopped buying anything that is junk food for this house. He also has severe acid reflux disease. I don't know what I would do if he just went and bought them himself. You must feel cornered trying to help him when he can't help himself. Today will be salad and tangio oranges. |

| Nothing yet for me....but I did buy a nice head of cauliflower for $1.50 at Kroger. It keeps well, so when I am done with the slaw in the fridge, I will cook it or just dice it up with mayo and eat it that way. I also bought another cantaloupe....I need to check carb counts in those.

| Maxi, 1/8th of a large cantaloupe has 8.32 carbs w/0.9 fiber. 1/8th of a medium has 5.63 carbs w/0.6 fiber. 1/8th of a small is 4.49 carbs w/0.5 fiber. Breakfast was a pork sausage omelet w/onion, celery, jalepenos, and cheese. Lunch was a couple of lettuce wraped ham & cheese roll-ups. Dinner was a lettuce salad w/roma tomato, cucumber, green onion, and stuffed olives, a square of deep dish pizza quiche w/sausage, red bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, and ripe olives, and a strawberry shortcake made out of 1/2 of a OMM.

| Thanks, Henry....I just wish I'd read that before I ate the pear.....I would've skipped it in favor of the cantaloupe. I had some slaw with l/c ranch dressing and fried catfish with no coating....just dipped in egg and spices. And the pear. So, 3-4 servings today. I won't go so far as to count pizza sauce as a serving.....
