I've had salad every day, at least.
And the plan is: go to Kroger after work! We're down to 3 navel oranges, onions, and potatoes. Yikes!

It's so good to be home!
Have fun at Kroger Maxibee. I have 4 days until it is payday and can go grocery shopping. My poor family are having pretty blah meals but I'm happy because I get to work on cleaning out the refrigerator and such.
I'm going to have tomato soup again for vegetable and then for fruit is raisons.

Breakfast was cantaloupe and Maggie's cereal w/dried cranberries. Lunch was a lettuce salad w/cherry tomatoes, cucumber, green onion, and stuffed olives, and a piece of taco pie w/salsa. Dinner was a Shrimp Louie salad on lettuce w/tomatoes, cucumber, green pepper, green onion, hb egg and cheese.

I came home sick today. That's what I get for drinking a Diet Pepsi...I guess it got hot at some point and the aspartame broke down.....eeeeewww!
Anyway, all I managed was some Carb Clever peaches....DD and I shared a can. My tummy is still not happy.
I never made it to Kroger, so DD and DH ordered a pizza. Sigh.

I hope you are doing better Maxi. Breakfast was cantaloupe and an Italian seasoned ground beef omelet w/onion and green pepper. Lunch was a lettuce salad w/cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and stuffed olives. Dinner was a large taco salad w/lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green onion, ripe olives, jalepenos, and taco meat. This will be my last post until I return from Hawaii on the 19th. The first course for Breakfast tomorrow at 0-dark-30 will be the last of the cantaloupe. That will be followed by a cranberry-spice OMM w/cream cheese when I change planes in Chicago. Lunch will be a couple of pieces of deep dish pizza quiche w/ground beef, mushrooms, onion, green pepper, ripe olives, and cheese somewhere over the Pacific, 6-7 hours into the flight. Dinner will be somewhere in Honolulu. (DW has picked out a restaurant.) ALOHA until the 19th.:jump:![]()

It's been a long time since I've posted in this thread. I'm drowning in my own homegrown tomatoes plus my sister's growing zucchini, yellow and patty pan squashes and green beans and brussels sprouts and green bell peppers and hot chili peppers. and I've been given a shopping bag full of some of each of those. I DO feel blessed even though I have to eat tomatoes with every meal.

Hey, Rob! I'm the person who will pick tomatoes out of the food before I put kethcup on it to eat it! LOL! I hate them...they taste like dirt to me. I also detest Dr.Pepper....and I'm a native Texan. I realize these claims put me in the vast minority, but it's true....we only buy a tomato or 2 if we know DH's Mom is coming to visit. She drinks coffee every morning and eats tomatoes at every meal.....and wonders why she has stomach problems!
I wish I liked tomatoes.....they are so pretty and they're so healthy. I just cannot stomach them.....raw. I love salsa and Rotel, etc. It's just something about that earthy fresh tomato taste I cannot handle.
I am feeling much better. I had some peaches today, and a green salad, and some watermelon.

So sad Maxi. You might like the sweet homegrown ones. Though I'm beginning to dislike tomatoes myself. Too much of a good thing.

Dr. Pepper? Who is this Maxibee I thought I knew?
That is absolutely my favorite drink. Today my dh, kids and I walked to the grocery store where they had donuts and I treated myself to a Dr. Pepper berries and cream diet soda. It was sooooo wonderful Maxibee. I didn't feel like I was being deprived either from donuts. I do know how you feel about tomatoes. I can force myself to eat them if I HAVE TO - lol. I can eat ketchup, salsa, tomato soup...which of course people think of weird. Do you think there is an extention on the brussel sprouts hater club for us tomato haters? lol
Rob - welcome back! Glad that you are eating so many wonderful FRESH foods. If I knew where you lived I'd make a run with some of your tomatoes for salsa batches...mooooaaaahhh aaaah aaah........my own personal evil laugh.I love zuchini! I just made two zuchini pies yesterday. My nephew and niece were a bit scared when they saw green in their pie but loved it! I gave a piece to my mother and stepfather too. My mom loves it!! I just bought some ingredients to make 4 batches of zuchini bread to give out to family. With flour only $1, free zuchini that friends have given me and free sugar that I got from a lady it'll be nice to make for those in my family that have tight budgets. I always save a small loaf for my family so they eat it fast before I do. My secret ingredient is chocolate chips. Yum!
Heather, the SMELL of Dr.Pepper makes me nauseous.LOL!
I've gotten it (by accident) through the drive-through a couple of times. And taken a big ol' drink. And spewed it out in my car! Gag a maggot! If I live to be 100, I will never understand the appeal of that stuff.
I think it has some sort of addictive ingredient in it. Being in the junk food industry, I've seen it all. People who drink diet sodas will switch to another diet soda if their favorite is out at the time. But the Dr.Pepper people won't. And they will threaten to hurt you if their Dr.Pepper selection runs out. I've seen people on the verge of a total breakdown, going through DP withdrawal. Unbelievable.
But, it's our third best seller, right behind Coke and Diet Coke. Like I said, I realize I am in the minority here!
As far as tomatoes go.....I actually bought some today to make fresh pico de gallo (sp)(and guacamole). I used fresh cilantro, white onion, garlic, and jalapenos in it. It smelled so good!
While DH had his fajitas on tortillas, I put mine over a salad and topped it with some pico and guacamole.....and a little ranch dressing. Marvelous.
I also had some watermelon and a peach. And some spinach at breakfast. Imagine that!

Dr. Pepper...yummy....want more.....when will I get another next sip.....need to pawn my tv for more.
Okay, I'm not THAT bad but I remember during highschool most days that would be my breakfast. When people asked how I could drink soda in the morning I would just ask them what the difference between that and coffee is.
Today for veggies: spinach leaf salad
Today for fruit: applesauce sweetened with splenda
