May I join you all here? I am new to low carb and need a support site so I can chat with other low carbers.
Right now I am doing Atkins and just off induction and have lost 10 lbs. so far. I am now entering my third week on low carb and hope the weight will keep dropping off. I just have so much to lose. I had 135 lbs. to lose but now 10 of that is already gone so its only 125 now. I know it will take time, probably most all this next year but I know I can do it, I have the patience to stick with it in the long run.
I am having some health problems and I need to lose it.
So if you all don't mind me joining you here I would love to post and chat with you about more things related to losing weight.
I would like some recipes and maybe tips on what to snack on during the middle of the day because I start to get hungry again around 3:00pm everyday and need some thing to hold me over until supper. Right now I have just been eating very little snacks but I know over time this is going to be a problem for me and I don't want to mess up.
So any help you can give a new low carber I would appreciate it so much.

Oh yes Sunshine, please join in. I've found that the more threads you join the better you are motivated. I saw that you had 135 pounds to lose. My restart weight was 136 pounds. I'm rooting for you!

Thanks BlueJay, I need all the help I can get with my weight problem. I began at 300lbs. and now 290 in just two weeks on induction with Atkins. I am now going into my third week and doing good with it so far and am not cheating at all, at least i do not think I am.
Right now I have been reading everything I can find on low carb and learning what all I can have and not have on it. I need so badly to make my weight loss real this time and not fail like I have so many times before on other diets. My health depends on my losing my weight.
I am trying to do some exercises to like walking some and biking but I really cannot do to much of that right now until I get my energy level and strength up more than it is now but I am taking it alittle at a time and going from day to day and I know it will build up over time. I am already feeling better just after my 10 lbs. weight loss so I know I will feel even better when I lose more weight.
Thanks for being here for me. I tried another low carb site but got little response from it then I found you all here and everyone has seemed to greet me so nicely and I appreciate that so much.
Will try to check in most days when I can ok so I will see you again later.

If you can a great way to motivate more exercise in is a pedometer. I wear mine everyday and now can get 17,000 steps a day no problem. They did a study and women lost weight when they got in 10,000 steps a day compared to those who did 30 minutes of exercise. Those 30 minute exercisers only maintained. Then you could just walk around doing housework which really gets those steps in. I originally started my journey at 296 pounds SunShine. (((hugs)))

I will have to get one to see how much I walk. I do walk some outside most everyday but I also do alot of walking inside my house to because I hardly ever sit down much. I am always up doing something.
I try to burn as many calories as possible and as much as I am on the go it looks like I would be as skinny as a rail but I am not. I just over-ate thats all and got fat. But now with low carb I am finally losing it.

Welcome Sunshine. I post my menus here. If you see something that looks interesting, just ask me for the recipe. Breakfast was Maggie's cereal w/dried cranberries. Lunch was a lettuce salad w/roma tomato, cucumber, green onion, and stuffed olives, BBQ ribs w/ low carb bbq sauce, and a one minute corn muffin. Dinner was a large taco salad w/lettuce, tomato, green onion, jalepenos, ripe olives, taco meat and cheese.

Sunshine - When I started gaining weight I gave myself permission to eat because I was doing aerobic (floor/water) 3x a day sometimes. I gained 25 pounds that year because I thought I didn't have to worry and could eat fast food. Definately about food choices, I agree Sunshine. Women used to be thin and they didn't go to the gym. They took care of the house and that was enough. Of course they didn't have dishwashers (I don't :() and washing machines so they had more of an advantage. I live in an apartment and think taking care of the yard would be great exercise. I can see how you get lot's of exercise around the house.

Today: fruits - fruit & walnut salad from McDonald's
Veggies - one large cucumber sprinkled with no salt coming up!

Henry - I try to just look at your menu real fast because it always makes me so hungry. Your wife is so lucky to have you around. I'm lucky to have dh but would be extra luckier if he knew how to cook anything besides tv dinners.

Breakfast was Maggie's cereal w/dried cranberries. Lunch was a lettuce salad w/roma tomato, cucumber, green onion, and stuffed olives, BBQ ribs w/ low carb bbq sauce, and a chipolte seasoned one minute corn muffin. Dinner was a large taco salad w/lettuce, tomato, green onion, jalepenos, ripe olives, taco meat and cheese. (Yes, except for the chipolte seasoning, this is the same as yesterday's menu. Sometimes I do opt for convenience from the freezer when I have been out of town and my weekly meal planning schedule gets out of sequence.)
