    Default Back At It...

Hi everyone...I have decided today to go back on the band wagon and do the low carb thing again. I did it back in 2002 and lost about 55 lbs. really quick. I felt and looked great. After getting married and having two kids, I have gained it all back plus an extra 50 lbs. I have lost 25 lbs. by counting calories and serious exersise since January 1st, but it has been a really slow process and I am getting really frusterated. I have a wedding that I have to be in in August and would love to lose a good amount of weight before then. I am excited to join this community and thank you all for your inspiration.

Rachael. Congratulations on your loss to date. Losing weight does not follow any timetable we set. Instead of focusing on losing weight for an event, I encourage you to think about the long term benefits to losing your excess weight and to recognize that to keep the weight off, the low/ controlled carb WOE must be truly a lifestyle change and not a diet that you can "go off of". I see you are following Atkins. That is a great plan. I encourage you to read DNDR to refresh your recollection. I find that each time I reread it, I find something I missed. Since l/c worked for you once, it will again. However, many people find that the second time the weight comes off much slower than the first time. Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Welcome! I say if the wedding is your motivation then rock it! I think that sometimes it is necessary to have an external motivation! I know when I have something coming up it helps me focus and brings out the competitive side of my nature, which helps keep me on track! Grr!
