Hello all! It has been a couple of years since I first started LCE and of course I fell off the band wagon after 3 months. In that time I lost 25 pounds and was feeling great. I don't know what got me off track but a few later I have gained 10 pounds of it back (was 20lbs). I have decided that I want back on the wagon because I am tired of being 248 pounds and want to be able to wear little clothes, at least a size 12, I would be happy with that.

I know that LCE works, at least for me, because during my first run, my blood pressure lowered and I had a lot of energy. Who would want to give that up?! The only thing I hated was the headaches the first week. That's because I am an avid coffee drinker and to give it up cold turkey was murder. I am not going to do that again. I'm going to have at least one cup a day and replace the rest of the day with tea.

Starting over at 248 pounds. Wish me luck!

Tanesa,
Hi and Welcome to LCE!
Another thing that helps with the *induction flu* type headache, is simply increasing your water intake. I'm with you, though, I didn't totally give up my morning coffee; I did greatly reduce it to just one, 12oz mug(had been filling that puppy up at least 3 times! Yikes!)

You'll hear it many times...but hopefully, you have the book for your plan, you've reviewed your plan so you can plan your work(weight loss and eating healthly) and work your plan!

Post often and let us know how it's going!

We're glad you're here!

Welcome, Tanesa! You've found a friendly spot for help and encouragement.

Some people have no problem with coffee, and continue to drink it. Others do have problems, so either cut way back, or switch to decaf. I personally switched mostly to decaf, because I feel better without all the caffeine I was consuming. Your idea of having your morning cup and then switching to tea is a good idea, since tea has a different type of caffeine. Everyone is different when it comes to caffeine effects.

I hope you find lots of help and encouragement here!

Hi Tanesa-good luck to you. My friend, who lost over 120 pounds on Atkins, always has one cup of regular coffee followed by a 3/4 decaf and 1/4 regular mix blend. Whatever floats your boat.

Welcome, Tannesa!

I hear you on the coffee. I never gave up coffee myself, although I probably would have benefited from reducing my caffiene. But it would have been a bit much right off the bat for me, so I didn't.

Delighted to have anohter experienced LCer on board, and am looking forward to getting to know you better.

I agree, don't give up everything at first. Work on eating first. I went cold turkey on coffee some months ago but felt like I had nothing for me. I gave up smoking, eating 24/7.... so then a few weeks ago I decided I would just have decaf coffee. It's been nice.

You can do it!! Can't wait to hear all your victories along the way.

Welcome back! I think that a cup of coffee won't hurt you. And I know what you mean by wanting to be a size 12. That is definitely a milestone. It's the first "normal" size. We can do this!

I drink one mug of coffee every morning.... maybe I shouldn't ... but I do... so I reckon that is just something I am not willing to give up just yet...

Welcome Tanesha..
